Job Description

The Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) group will be responsible for creating the annual budget and quarterly forecasts, managing cash flow models, project analysis, and monitoring other key financial performance indicators. 

The FP&A group will collaborate with business lines within Central 1 to provide senior management and executives with the analysis and information they need to make major operational, financial, and strategic decisions.

This role is open to candidates in which our offices are located. 

What you'll do:

  • Develop and maintain a sound understanding of Central 1’s product offerings and business lines and their respective financial levers
  • Assist and review all core FP&A functions including but not limited to annual budgeting, forecasting, and project analysis
  • Oversee the maintenance of financial dashboards to provide key financial insights to enable the lines of business and management to make informed decisions
  • Oversee and assist in the development of key performance financial indicators and analytics for business lines, products and members
  • Review sensitivity analysis to enable management to understand the range of potential outcomes of actions
  • Review the appropriate financial models to evaluate and provide recommendations to business development and enhancement opportunities
  • Build strategic relationships with key business stakeholders and establish Finance as a valued business partner
  • Assist in developing a team with the necessary modelling, quantitative, and analytics capabilities to be recognized as the experts in the field within Central 1
  • Serve as a partner to business lines looking to gain deep insight into financial data that influences strategic decision-making and company performance through relevant financial analysis
  • Support and drive automation of core FP&A processes; contribute towards efficiencies by identifying opportunities for improving data, systems and processes/procedures
  • Ensure results are professionally and clearly communicated, highlighting key assumptions and potential risks to drive and support business decisions
  • Stay abreast of developments in analytical tools, techniques and industry standards/best practice

Qualifications

Who you are:

  • A university degree and a professional accounting designation (CPA) or finance designation (CFA), together with at least 5-8 years of related progressive experience in financial planning & analysis
  • In-depth working knowledge of core financial systems and understanding of process automation capabilities
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, organizational and time management skills
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills and story telling
  • Ability to act as a business partner to internal and external stakeholders
  • Display an agile mindset to accommodate a dynamic environment
  • Wide experience with financial modelling, analytics, and data visualization methodologies and tools

Leadership skills

  • Experience and passion for leadership including the development of talent and high performing teams through mentoring, feedback, and providing professional growth opportunities
  • Leadership presence and ability to build credibility at all levels within Finance
  • Collaboration skills with a proven track record of driving change through team and trust building
  • Effective consensus building, conflict resolution, and team-building skills, including being a role model for others and imparting knowledge and experience to junior team members
  • Leadership skills to drive change throughout the FP&A group by leading and managing teams to successfully improve core group operations and increasing the value Finance contributes to the organization
