Because of COVID19, all Central1 offices are currently closed to non-essential employees. This role will see you working remotely until our offices are reopened. The timeline to reopen is still under consideration, as are our future remote working policies.

We're looking to add an intermediate to senior Frontend Developer help us build the next generation of mobile/online banking platform, which is used by hundreds of Credit Unions across Canada known as Forge.  In this role, you'll be more focused on frontend JavaScript development (AngularJS and Angular) but if you can write your own APIs, that would be a huge bonus, as Forge has been built using a microservice first mindset. Our teams are organized using the Spotify squad model, and we’re committed to building both DevOps processes and automation, as well as a culture with a strong agile mindset.

What you’ll do:

• Write great code
• Understand business problems we've solving and technical issues to find new solutions
• Participate in code reviews and business/technical discussions
• Contribute to daily/weekly agile ceremonies
• Design and complete complex software enhancements proficiently with a high level of quality
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to more junior staff 
• Constantly look for better ways of solving technical problems and designing the solution, not afraid of challenging the status quo
• Participate in code reviews and business/technical discussions

Who you are:

• 5 years of relevant experience working with modern JavaScript such as Angular, AngularJS, Vue or React (we're currently using AngularJS and moving towards more Angular)
• Strong JavaScript and Typescript skills
• Experience using HTML and CSS
• A university degree in computer science or software engineering (or equivalent) and 5+ years’ experience in software engineering. 
• Proven history of writing great code and completing complex software enhancements proficiently with a high level of quality
• Experience with translating business requirements into technical approaches
• Knowledge of version control systems and continuous integration systems (Git, Bamboo, Sonar, Jenkins)
• Skills to dig into hard technical problems and large/complex codebases without getting stuck
• Proven experience in agile/scum methodologies
• Experience with Java, C# or Node in a modern API focused development environment would be a bonus (we use Java 8)
