Job Description

Background

The candidate will work as part of the Project Management Office (PMO) to develop project reporting, program reporting, and governance reporting that will benefit stakeholders across the organization including the Executive Leadership Team. Will receive coaching from the Business Intelligence team as needed. Will help develop our next generation of reporting built on our Business Intelligence platform, Tableau.   

What you’ll be doing

You’ll be working closely with the Director of PMO and other leaders as follows:

  • Work with end users and business analysts to understand business requirements.
  • Create reports, dashboards and report definitions (using Tableau)
  • Create and deliver end-user training and documentation
  • Develop, manage, and update data models, including physical and logical models
  • Define data needed for reporting. Join data from different sources.
  • Conduct data quality reviews – ensure the data that’s being reported is correct
  • Work with Project and Program managers in designing and developing project status reports and ensuring information is updated as required for reporting
  • Develop reports showing Resource Capacity analysis information.
  • Follow up with resource managers and project managers to ensure resource forecast information is entered.
  • Help define process for regular reporting

Qualifications

  • Working on a degree in Computer Science, Business Intelligence, Information Technology, or related field
  • Some knowledge of data modelling, data analysis, database design, SQL is preferred.
  • Good analytical skills
  • Ability to define requirements and design reporting solutions
  • Exposure to data visualization techniques and ability to design visually appealing reports
  • Software programming experience would be an asset
  • PowerPoint presentation experience
  • Translation of business questions and requirements into reports, views, and BI query objects - the ability to assess needs and develop reporting solutions that align with those needs.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong technical skills.
  • Ability to work independently
