Job Description

The Web Platform Analyst 2 leverages business analysis, process improvement and platform expertise to support internal and external clients with web portals, collaboration and work management platforms.

Qualifications

University degree in computer science (or equivalent) and 3 to 4 years relevant experience in a large-scale IT environment.

Thorough knowledge and understanding of IT operations and processes and of applicable infrastructure deployments, Windows and Linux operating systems, web applications, shell scripting and interpreted development languages. Good knowledge of best practices related to infrastructure configuration and maintenance, system administration and documentation. Well developed analytical, problem solving, organizational and time management skills. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with technical teams and other co-workers, work to schedules, and adapt easily to changing priorities and business needs.

echnical Knowledge

Required

* Experience in Service-Now administration and customization.

* Experience in CMS platforms such as WordPress, SharePoint.

* Experience coding in HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript.

* Basic understanding of web services, REST API usage and implementation.

* Experience in Apache, IIS web servers.

* Experience in web hosting platforms cPanel and WHM.

* Experience in SQL (MS SQL Server, MySQL, etc.)

* Experience in Windows/Unix based operating systems.

* Experience with service administration using PowerShell, Bash, Python, etc.

* Basic understanding of network and firewall configuration.

* Basic understanding of HTTP protocol.

* Experience with HTTP/s capture and troubleshooting.

 

Nice to have:

* Experience with Office 365 as a global administrator.

* Experience using Nginx web server.

* Experience using Docker, Kubernetes and Containers.

* Experience with public cloud (AWS, Azure).

* Basic understanding of Active Directory, SAML, Federation, OAuth2, OpenID specs, JWT, SCIM.

* Basic exposure to software development using Angular, React or Vue.js.

 

Primary Accountabilities:

* Troubleshoot and resolve incidents and system disruptions, or when required, manage the escalation of the more complex problems to the Web Platform Analyst 3 for resolution.

* Assess internal tools and processes failing to work as designed and develop and implement solutions.

* Monitor health, availability and performance of our systems on a daily basis.

* Assist with report generation around Weekly, Monthly and Quarterly operational metrics. Reports must be completed and delivered within the specified time frames.

* Assist in the planning, design, rollout and maintenance of Web services based on our CMS standards.

* Assist with the rollout of documented changes to the production environment. Monitor, escalate and triage incidents as needed.

* Ensure change requests are launched to production and do not generate any foreseeable incidents.

* Develop solutions to improve operational processes, system management and monitoring.

* Maintain current knowledge of Central 1’s family of products, application functionality and the high-level architecture of Central’s hosting environment.

* Train internal staff on an on-going basis as to the latest changes in the environments under his area or responsibility.

* Ensure everyone is up to speed with product/infrastructure updates.

* Manages Problem and Incident Queue’s ensuring all tickets are completed and updating in a timely manner.

* Ensure services meet agreed upon SLAs for availability and performance.

* Perform other duties as required to deliver exceptional service and to support Central’s business goals.

Supervision Received:

The incumbent reports to a Team Lead or Section Manager who oversees activities, monitors progress and evaluates results. The incumbent is expected to function in an independent fashion with minimal supervision for most tasks.

Work Environment:

Incumbent may be required to work non-standard business hours and provide pre-scheduled after-hours support. Must complete assignments within assigned timeframes, sometimes requiring the need to work beyond the normal end of the day. The work often requires the incumbent to be seated but some activities require physical exertion. Frequent visual attention is required.

May be required to participate in 24x7 on call responsibilities.
