Job Description

The Software Test Analyst will help ensure quality of delivery within the portfolio of technology components serving treasury and users of the “wires” product. Given that the department is refactoring and extending functionality on products that manage transactions that are often high value, hence the importance that software and validation points have been tested and are consistently functional.

Your primary accountabilities include:

- Working on a rich UI that runs on a complicated Java 8 platform that uses SSO, 2 factor and web services. The UI is made up of wicket and angular components and manages basic CRUD services of wire transactions.

- Testing and supporting the server side of the web services calls to ensure that the management of wires is working through the entire application stack over a disturbed system.

- Reviewing and analyzing business requirements, design specifications and documentation; determining appropriate strategy and defining, modifying or developing procedures as required to accomplish objectives for testing applications; developing manual, automated or performance test cases as required.

- Conducting Build Verification, Integration and System testing in accordance with established departmental testing and documentation standards to ensure applications are reliable, function as documented and free of defects.

- Documenting software testing results and developing recommendations for product improvement.

- Providing explanations regarding the software testing results to product development teams, developers, business analysts, and other members of the team as required.

- Recommending and assisting in the development of software testing standards, procedures, and techniques to efficiently and effectively testing and evaluating products.

- Preparing work estimates for projects or project specific tasks of limited to moderate complexity.

- Reviewing test cases developed by more junior staff and provides information and advice to improve their testing process

Qualifications

As the ideal candidate, you possess:

- A university degree in Software Engineering, computer science or other related discipline with an IT focus (or equivalent) and a minimum of 3 – 5 years related experience.

- Thorough knowledge and understanding of software product design/development methods and standards, good programming practice and thorough knowledge of structured test methodology, test techniques and test processes. 

- Ability to perform manual, automated and simple to medium complexity performance testing.  Strong analytical, problem solving, organizational and time management skills.

- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with clients, technical teams and other co-workers, work to schedules, and adapt easily to changing priorities and business needs. 

- Ability to work on multiple projects in a team environment.
