Job Description

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Acts as project coordinator in the development and enhancement of payment, clearing and settlement product and services with the primary focus on SWIFT and LVTS.\
  • Analyses impact for the Group relevant to Payments Canada  regulatory requirements and payment industry changes related to SWIFT, LVTS, and ACSS/USBE. 
  • Performs business analysis activities relating to product and service modifications/enhancements and to support the resolution of production problems.
  • Co-ordinates system and project changes ensuring seamless business operations.
  • Tracks and oversees the project life cycle from analysis through to deployment, provides project updates to stakeholders, and acts as a liaison between external stakeholders and internal stakeholders.
  • Develops test plan and test cases including test requirements for the clearing centrals.
  • Provides follow-up and support to ensure testing cycles achieve the desired results.
  • Ensures all functional requirements have been met by performing thorough testing of system changes and enhancements.
  • Reviews implementation plans developed by Payments Canada or Expertus, provides feedback as requested, and oversees implementation.
  • Participates in mandatory UAT testing as required by Payments Canada for initiatives including but not limited to annual SWIFT Standards Release and LVTS By-Pass testing.
  • Co-ordinate and participate in PAT testing for both Payments Canada initiatives and Expertus initiatives such as maintenance releases and patches.
  • Provides follow-up and support to ensure the successful operation of the new implementations.
  • Provides support for Disaster Recovery exercises to ensure compliance with Payments Canada regulations.
  • Co-ordinate the annual BCP/DRP testing required for the National Intergroup Settlement System (NISS)
  • Upon request by other LVTS participants, if feasible performs LVTS testing to assist other participants with their testing needs.
  • Develops and refines content for operational procedures and other documentation, and trains staff
  • Participates in monthly meetings with Expertus Operations, provides project status updates and ensures that incidents, requests and problems are resolved.
  • Represents the Group as required on Payments Canada or other payment industry committees.
  • Acts as the National Security Officer for ACSS and LVTS clearing and settlement systems by providing password and user management access for the clearing centrals, performing audits, maintaining NISS tables, and SWIFT Relationship Management used to coordinate access to SWIFT by establishing key relationships with correspondent banks.
  • Support the review and design of Group Clearer business processes through the use of appropriate process improvement methodologies and tools.

Qualifications

  •  A minimum of 5 years Financial Services experience in a payments technical coordination role.
  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in computer science, business administration or other related discipline
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with developing, designing and documenting business processes based on industry standard methodologies, enquires, tools and best practices.
  • Knowledge of  , ACSS, LVTS, SWIFT and ISO 20022 Message Standards.
  • Knowledge of Payments Canada Rules and Standards
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organization and time management skills.
  • Assumes ownership of expected results, and exhibits dedication to own work.
  • Ability to deal with a variety of situations with diplomacy and confidentiality.
  • Team player who can foster strong working relationships with internal staff and external contacts in order to accomplish objectives.
  • Ability to work independently and take the initiative to complete assignments through collaboration and negotiation with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Accuracy is essential and analytical and problem solving skills are required.
  • Proven capability to multi-task and ensure information collected is accurate, current and stored on a regular basis.
