Job Description

BASIC FUNCTION:

 This role supports the development and implementation of an effective planning and analysis process that provides leaders with appropriate analytical tools to establish goals and measure their department’s performance. The core responsibility of this role is to participate in the month end, quarter end and year end management accounting activities.

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Responsible for the Workforce Planning process of connecting detailed headcount and compensation costs to financial budgets and forecasts.
  • Participate in Central 1’s financial month end forecast, annual budgeting process and operating plan variance analysis.
  • Process support services allocations for budgets using Central 1’s budget planning and management reporting system (Longview)
  • Perform administrative functions in Longview reporting system including being the back up for the system administrator
  • Perform monthly postings of support allocations and cost drivers.
  • Routinely communicate business unit financial and operational performance trends, historical and forecasted, using appropriate metrics. Suggest trends, resulting implications, key actions, and strategic implications.
  • Responsible for routine analytical reviews of departments’ financial statements.
  • Responsible for preparing ad-hoc reporting and analysis.
  • Assist with special financial and business related projects and works collaboratively with other departments in preparing analysis
  • Assist with compilation and analysis of consolidated budgets and long range plans.
  • Interdepartmental collaboration is pivotal
  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

 A professional accounting designation (CPA) with a minimum of 3 years related experience is required for this role. A university degree in business or finance is an asset. Advanced excel skills along with strong analytical skills and attention to detail is necessary to be successful in this role.  Longview experience with Planning, Budgeting and Forecasting and performing systems administrative functions as well as experience in the financial services industry is an asset.  Strong written and verbal communications skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision are required.
