Job Description

We are looking for a Registered Plans Administrator responsible for the administration of registered plan products and services, specifically TFSA and RDSP, for the trustees and their plan holders that will be responsible for daily contact with financial institutions. The successful candidate will deliver a positive member experience in supporting the users for the credit union system.  The Registered Plans Administrator will also act as a back up for the Registered Plans Administrator and Financial Services Associate.

Specific Accountabilities:

TFSA & RDSP Administration

  • Responsible for the daily electronic processing of paperwork primarily consisting of daily transactions received from the credit unions.
  • Confirm that all data received from the credit unions is accurate, on correct forms, and within legislated guidelines.
  • Educate credit union staff on data entry, completion of forms and legislation.
  • Distribute month end reports to appropriate credit unions and generate term maturity letters.
  • Process transfers in/out for Central-administered credit unions.
  • Conduct paperwork searches for Estate processing and the administration of the plans.
  • Assist credit union staff by providing any necessary information required for processing of Registered Plan Estates.
  • Responsible for maintaining member files and updating the content of the  forms and the  part of The Guide in conjunction with the Financial Services Associate and the Products, Compliance and Design Department.
  • Conduct monthly reconciliation of all credit unions to Central 1 systems.
  • Process the monthly Inbound and Outbound RDSP files to and from Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC). Send Grant and Bond funds monthly to credit unions and balance totals received from ESDC to Central’s monthly general ledger
  • Process the Univeris Group RRSP data entry on a bi-weekly basis

General Administration:

  • Verify data input by other Registered Plans Administrators and Associates.
    Respond to inquiries from credit unions and members on all aspects of Registered Plans with up to date and accurate information.
  • Perform research on specific accounts occasionally to answer inquiries from Credit Unions and plan holders.
  • Process testing for computer systems (Portfolio Plus); including input to improve systems and indicating any deficiencies.


Qualifications

  • A minimum of Grade 12 education is required. 
  •  A minimum of 3 years office experience in a computerized environment with understanding of basic accounting.
  • A proven track record of wowing customers and identifying the root causes to find solutions.
  • The successful candidate must have the ability to multi-task and work in an environment with constant interruptions without sacrificing the quality of work. 
  • Able to process large volumes of work promptly and with a high degree of accuracy is required.
  • A high degree of attention to detail to is essential to this role and a background in registered products is considered an asset.
