Job Description

The Trade Services Project Manager is responsible for tracking and facilitating multiple projects across the Trade Services division from inception to completion. This individual is accountable for project charters, risk management and mitigation, detailed budgets, and timelines which are to be implemented ensuring projects are to scope, on time, in line with budget and ultimately end in member satisfaction. The
successful candidate
identifies options for potential solutions, evaluates the technical and business suitability of each option, and participates in assessing the priority, feasibility and impact while guiding departments to deliver as per proposed roadmaps.

You'll be primarily accountable for:

  • Undertaking project management and business analysis activities relating to department requirements or change requests for the development, modification or enhancement of various products and services;
  • Handling the tracking and facilitation of projects from inception to completion. This individual will be accountable for delivery of multiple projects, including project charters, risk management and mitigation, detailed budgets, and timelines to ensure that projects are delivered on scope, time and within budget and with the ultimate goal of member satisfaction;
  • Understanding the bigger picture by identifying options for potential solutions, evaluating the technical and business suitability of each option, and participating in assessing the priority, feasibility and impact of undertaking the project;
  • Tracking, facilitating and overseeing business requirements during the project life cycle from analysis through to deployment, providing project updates as needed to internal management, and acting as a liaison between technical and operational staff in resolving planning and implementation issues. 
  • Participating in presenting proposals to management and providing input to selecting the best options to meet business and technical needs. Providing input to defining project parameters and preparing detailed specifications including workflows,  matrices and comfortable using KPIs.
  • Liaising with Trade Services directors and teams to gain current understanding of products and services being offered and communicating with Member Relations to garner valuable input and feedback;
  • Performing other duties as required to deliver exceptional service to support Central 1's business goals.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should have:

  • A university degree in business administration or other related discipline with a strategy focus (or equivalent), and a minimum of 8 years' experience working on all stages of the project life-cycle in the role of senior project manager;
  • Project Management certification is an asset;
  • In-depth knowledge of project budget management, process management, the creation and updating of project charters, risk assessment and KPIs. Must be adaptable with a strong ability to multitask, forecast potential issues and comfortable with escalating issues;
  • Strong understanding of business analysis principles, methodologies, tools and techniques with highly developed analytical, problem solving, organizational and time management skills. Keen ability to analyze and document business and technical requirements, and coordinate a variety of projects through to completion;
  • Excellent communication skills both orally and in writing to technical teams and other co-workers, work to schedules, and easily adapt to changing priorities and business needs;
  • Confidence and ability to work with and advise all levels of the organization, include Executive Management. Ability to work on multiple projects with conflicting deadlines, both independently and in a team environment;
  • Excellent member service and client management skills;
  • Experience with Confluence, Excel and MS Project considered an asset.
