Job Description
Implement and maintain effective business & financial planning processes for the Digital & Payments division. Support and give guidance to all groups within D&PS in the development of long term business plans. Represent the D&PS division in inter-departmental initiatives.
Specific Accountabilities:
- Develops long range plans (5 years) to ensure effective business operations in responding to evolving customer requirements, trends/developments in the industry, and other relevant influences
- Establishes and maintains inter-departmental relationships that foster cooperation and cooperative problem-solving.
- Maintains industry contacts in order to develop and maintain “best practice” approach.
- Addresses gaps in the division’s ability to meet emerging and customer needs.
- Works with AVPs to establish annual business plans to achieve division targets and to to develop the division budget.
- Track and monitor the division budgets, providing variance analysis on a cost center, product, product line and project level as needed.
- Develop standards within D&PS for attribution of costs and revenues to cost centers, and monitor adherence to those standards across all groups.
- Develop standards within D&PS for the financial modeling of business cases.
- Develop business cases, as required.
- Develops and implements business policies, standards, systems, processes and best practices.
- Thinks beyond day-today to take a longer term view of the business.
- Works closely with other managers in Digital & Payments and throughout Central 1 with respect to the planning and management of the work and resolution of critical issues that could impact the accomplishment of objectives.
- Develops and leads change management initiatives and acts as a positive change agent to continually improve operations and results.
- Support the Chief Digital & Payments officer with ad-hoc analysis and initiatives as needed to achieve division business goals.
Qualifications
A university degree in finance, business, or other suitable discipline. A minimum of 15 years’ relevant experience, including at least 8 years in managing a section/department involving the leadership of staff and planning and managing business and operational performance in accomplishing objectives.
- Ability to establish long range business plans.
- Ability to establish annual business plans and manage budgets.
- Ability to manage diverse and complex issues, at times requiring the need to balance priorities and resources between sections.
- Ability to think strategically and identify opportunities to increase business value and improve operational efficiencies.
- Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
- Highly developed analytical, problem solving, planning, organizational and change management skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with staff and clients, manage issues and adapt easily to changing priorities and business needs.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Strong business acumen.
