Job Description

This position serves to assure oversight of mental/behavioral health services and the clinical integration of behavioral health and other health care services for CenCal Health Plan. Reporting directly to the Deputy Chief Medical Officer, the position is responsible for improving the organization and delivery of mental/behavioral health services as services that are fully integrated with other health care services. This is accomplished through the support of an inter-agency coordinating committee, regular meetings and communications with contracted vendors and providers.

CenCal Health considers the clinical integration of health services for each member to be a core responsibility of CenCal Health. Currently, non-PCP mental/behavioral health care is contracted through the Holman Group as a key part CenCal’s provider network. This position will serve as the primary liaison to the Department of Health Care Services Behavioral Health workgroup, the Holman Group, the Santa Barbara County Department of Behavioral Wellness, and the San Luis Obispo County Mental Health Services Department.

CenCal Health also has organizational relationships and CenCal Health members receive services from several partner entities such as DASH, Doctors Without Walls, and Homeless Services Providers. This position will serve as a liaison to such agencies and support special projects to ensure that care provided is effective, coordinated with other services, and address the concept of “whole person care”.

Qualifications

• California Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist, Professional Counselor, Psychologist or RN with behavioral health and clinical integration experience with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in clinical practice
• Minimum three (3) years of management experience in health care or administration
• Experience with the safety net population preferred
• Experienced in Managed Care, Medicaid and/or Medicare strongly preferred
• Knowledge of pediatric behavioral health issues including Autism Spectrum Disorder
