Job Description

FUJIFILM Cellular Dynamics, Inc is recruiting for the newly created role of Sr. Account Manager, CDMO Solutions working out of our offices in either Madison, WI or Cambridge, MA. This critical role will serve as a proposal lead and manage the full CDMO business cycle by researching, evaluating and championing FCDI’s iPSC-based therapeutics, master cell bank manufacturing and CDMO services. The Sr. Account Manager will work with a cross-functional team to draft and implement CDMO agreements that maximize alignment between the client’s expressed needs and FCDI’s capabilities, manufacturing capacity and resources. The role will work to expand our CDMO manufacturing partnerships to support the continued commercial success of FCDI. Ideally this is a hybrid position located in Madison, WI, the east coast but we are flexible to remote work from any US location with some travel to Madison, WI as required.

Essential Job Functions

  1. Serve as internal champion for CDMO projects and work with the Business Development group to identify, qualify and pursue new business opportunities based on revenue and strategic value.
  2. Act as primary point of contact with customers and manage requests for CDMO services including the evaluation of incoming RFPs.
  3. Lead the generation of detailed proposals and in-depth presentations; work collaboratively with internal technical, legal, project management and business stakeholders to prepare and negotiate agreements.
  4. Identify key account decision makers and influencers and communicate effectively to advance and close opportunities.
  5. Develop a deep understanding of FCDI’s platform and technical capabilities in order to provide guidance and solutions to CDMO clients throughout the sales cycle.
  6. Prepare for and lead customer calls and visits; proactively anticipate barriers and present solutions.
  7. Synthesize inputs from various sources to organize, structure and document all information relevant to CDMO business opportunities.
  8. Manage multiple aspects of relationships with existing clients including pricing, contract amendments, budgeting, forecasting and other customer service-related issues to create long-term, high-value partnerships.
  9. Participate in IP licensing negotiations to support CDMO partnerships.
  10. Gather market intelligence and communicate insights into the cell therapy CDMO industry to R&D and senior management; participate in defining technological and business strategies to make FCDI more competitive.
  11. Attend key trade shows and conferences to and represent FCDI’s brand and CDMO capabilities and stay informed on key developments in the cell therapy manufacturing market.
  12. Establish standardization of internal procedures and best practices that increase efficiency and profitability.
  13. Ensure that CDMO activities achieve annual revenue targets.
  14. Other job functions as assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in scientific discipline; advanced scientific degree and/or an MBA is a plus.
  • 5 years of contract service sales, project management, alliance management, business development or key account management in the advanced therapy and/or pharmaceutical space; gene therapy, cell therapy or biologics CDMO experience is required.
  • Sufficient scientific background to lead highly technical conversations with industry leaders and executives in cell therapy manufacturing.
  • Proficient in contract language comprehension, deal structuring, communication and negotiation.
  • Experience in drafting proposals, statements of work, business quotes, budgets, forecasts and timelines.
  • Strong customer-service skills and ability to provide proof of value to the customer
  • Demonstrated ability to articulate technical and business concepts verbally and through presentation materials.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, ability to multitask and work in a dynamic, fast paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to accomplish results and meet deadlines and commitments.
  • Possesses strong collaboration, delegation and interpersonal communications skills and shares critical information with project team and senior leaders.
  • Attention to detail and demonstrated analytical and logic skills with a focus on fact-based decision making.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively to drive projects forward by mobilizing individuals with diverse perspectives and functional talents to generate shared solutions.
  • Nimble and agile. Must be able to work on multiple projects with overlapping timelines and meet all deadlines. Needs to be able to quickly digest and prioritize information.
  • Ability to travel – up to 25% - including international travel as required.
