Job Description

We are recruiting for a Production Planner to support our continued growth and on-going development projects.  Qualified individuals need to be inspired to support the development of therapeutics, and products and tools to support research endeavors .  We aspire to improve the quality of life through our efforts.  In return we provide development and support to enhance your career. 

In these roles you will utilize knowledge of inventory management systems to coordinate material inventory and production workflow for Discovery Research Manufacturing or cGMP Manufacturing, while collaborating with Project Leads, Project/Program Management, Process Development, R & D, MSAT, Logistics and/or Quality to ensure supply needs are met.

You'll also track orders against project and production campaign deadlines, and focus on improving process consistency, increasing scale, and reducing cost of goods of bio-processes for manufacturing iPSC-derived research and therapeutic products.  In addition you'll perform high level inventory data analysis, while maintaining a safe and clean work environment and follow standard operating procedures, and compliance where applicable cGMP manufacturing practices.

Essential Job Functions

  1.  Monitor material supply flow, identify any shortages on consumables or raw materials, and generate purchase requisitions and material transfer orders, as needed.
  2. Forecast future orders and control inventory levels to ensure availability of consumables and raw materials.
  3. Maintain SAP master data for production planning.
  4. Tracks orders against project or campaign requirements deadline and generates high level inventory reports.
  5. Assist in scheduling manufacturing activities based on inventory data and schedule usage of production materials to ensure optimal production levels and to minimize waste.
  6. Maintain high level of product and process quality standards and demonstrate ownership for continuous improvement – recommending improvements as applicable.  
  7. Draft, review and approve SOPs and other document types, as required.
  8. Collaborate with Project/Program Manager, MSAT, R&D and PD stakeholders to determine supply needs during tech transfers.
  9. Request controlled documents to be issued to therapeutics manufacturing.
  10. Maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
  11. Understand and comply with ethical, legal, and regulatory requirements applicable to FUJIFILM Cellular Dynamics, Inc. business.
  12. Attend in-person as well as virtual meetings and training sessions.
  13. Other job functions as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related technical/scientific field, or Associate’s degree with equivalent experience and evidence of exceptional ability
  • 2 years previous planning experience in a production environment or equivalent
  • Understanding of ERP or MRP system and Microsoft Office Products; strong computer skills
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the following:
  • Organizational and time management/prioritization skills
  • Knowledge of raw materials, consumables, production processes, quality control and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of goods
  • Ability to interact well with stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Work at computer for extended periods of time
  • Wear standard personal protective equipment
