Job Description

We are recruiting for a Process Engineer - Manufacturing Science and Technology to support our continued growth and on-going development projects.  Qualified individuals need to be inspired to support the development of therapeutics and life science products and tools to support research endeavors .  We aspire to improve the quality of life through our efforts.  In return we provide development and support to enhance your career using cutting edge iPSC technology.  In this role you will focus on improving process consistency, increasing scale, and reducing cost of goods of bio-processes for manufacturing iPSC-derived research and therapeutic products.  

Essential Job Functions

  1.  Develop, improve and integrate data analytical tools to identify and communicate opportunities to improve process consistency, increase scale, and reduce cost of good of bio-processes for manufacturing iPSC-derived research and therapeutic products.
  2.  Identify, evaluate and implement technology to improve consistency, increase scale, and reduce cost of goods of bio-processes for manufacturing iPSC-derived research and therapeutic products.
  3. Write protocols, technical reports, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  4. Participate in technology transfer of processes and equipment to the Manufacturing group.
  5. Collaborate with R&D project teams, and manufacturing and QC teams to execute processes improvement plans.
  6. Other job functions as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in bio-engineering, chemical engineering, or biological sciences, or Master’s degree in a comparable field plus three years of relevant experience, or Bachelor's degree in comparable field plus five years of relevant experience.
  • Up to one year of postgraduate experience, with demonstrated achievements and progressive responsibilities
  • Demonstrated proficiency with mammalian cell culture processes - preferably bioreactors
  • Strong organizational, troubleshooting and interpersonal skills along with excellent oral and written communication
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative, and matrixed organization environment.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule as weekend work is required
  • Relevant experience or understanding of biologics to include the following:
  •      Process development as a member of product/process development teams.
  •      Bio-manufacturing systems - including bio-reactor, 2D and 3D culture       methodologies
  •      Pluripotent stem cells and/or differentiation
  • Bio-manufacturing data analysis and software to include the following:
  •      Bioinformatics and related software such as JMP and R
  •      Six-Sigma tools and techniques to reduce waste
  • Various cell and molecular techniques including flow cytometry, Q-RT-PCR, fluorescence microscopy, and high content imaging
