Job Description

FujiFilm Cellular Dynamics, Inc. is currently hiring for a Senior Scientist at our Madison, WI location.  This Senior Scientist position requires a self-motivated individual with experience in stem cell biology who can contribute to our ongoing efforts to generate differentiated cell types from human induced pluripotent stem cells. 

Qualifications

Skills and Responsibilities:

  • Work with project team to develop robust cGMP-compatible differentiation, purification and characterization methods for human induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)-derived immunotherapy cell products.
  • Process optimization for pre-clinical and clinical manufacturing of iPSC-derived cells.
  • Design and execute on experimental plans to achieve project goals within a given time constraint.
  • Effectively communicate experimental results to the project team.
  • Write protocols, technical reports, SOPs and develop appropriate documentation for processes.
  • Participate in technology transfer of processes to Manufacturing group.

Essential Job Requirements:

  • Relevant experience or an advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in stem cell biology, cell biology, developmental biology, biomedical engineering or a closely related field.
  • Extensive cell and developmental biology knowledge (hematopoietic development knowledge is desirable).
  • CAR-T cell therapy or other immunotherapy process development experience is preferred.
  • Experiences with human ESC or human iPSC culture and differentiation are desirable.
  • Strong molecular biology skills.
  • Independent experimental design and execution.
  • Applicants should possess a strong work ethic, initiative, good people skills, the ability to multi-task, and a desire to acquire new technical skills.
  • Applicants should have strong written and oral communication skills including technical writing, notebook documentation and presentation skills. 
  • Experience operating in a team-based multidisciplinary environment is desirable.
  • Industry experience is desirable.

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to work in laboratory hood for extended periods of time.
  • Able to work with hazardous materials (i.e. chemicals, electrical equipment and human tissue) without endangering oneself or others.
  • Able to work at computer for extended periods of time.
  • Able to wear standard laboratory PPE.
