Job Description

Cellular Dynamics International, a FujiFilm Company, is recruiting for a Senior Research Specialist/Scientist position. This position requires a self-motivated individual with experience in cell biology and molecular biology who can contribute to our ongoing efforts to culture human induced pluripotent stem cells, and derive cell lines by genome engineering. 

Qualifications

Skills and Responsibilities:
•    Follow and optimize established protocols to culture and engineer induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC).
•    Cellular analysis including imaging, flow cytometry, cell sorting, PCR, DNA sequencing, NGS, and other gene/protein methods.
•    Stay current with iPSC and genome engineering literature and implement new technology and concepts.
•    Communicate experimental status and results to the project team in group meetings and presentations.
•    Interact with team members and other departments on a daily basis.
•    Adhere to budget and time constraints.
•    Document experiments conducted in an effective, organized, and timely manner.
•    Write SOPs, manufacturing protocols and Quality Control Protocols.

Essential Job Requirements:
•    Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in stem cell biology, cell biology, developmental biology, neurobiology, biomedical engineering or a closely related scientific field.
•    A minimum of three years laboratory experience post-graduation, preferably in an industry setting.
•    Experience with iPS cell culture, molecular biology methods, and genome engineering technologies.
•    Applicants should possess a strong work ethic, initiative, the ability to multi-task, and a desire to acquire new technical skills.
•    Flexibility to change project objectives quickly and enthusiastically.
•    Applicants should have strong written and oral communication skills as well as the ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
•    Weekend work is required.

Physical Requirements:
•    Able to work in laboratory hood for extended periods of time.
•    Able to work with hazardous materials (i.e. chemicals, electrical equipment and human tissue) without endangering oneself or others.
•    Able to work at computer for extended periods of time.
•    Able to wear standard laboratory PPE.
