Cellular Dynamics International, a FujiFilm Company, is recruiting for a Senior Research Specialist/Scientist position. This position requires a self-motivated individual with experience in cell biology and molecular biology who can contribute to our ongoing efforts to generate differentiated cell types from human induced pluripotent stem cells. 

Skills and Responsibilities:
•    Optimize established protocols to culture and differentiate induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC).
•    Develop and execute new and creative protocols to culture and characterize iPSC and their differentiated derivatives.
•    Interrogate biology of cell culture by high throughput molecular biology methods, cell surface marker expression, imaging and immunohistochemistry.
•    Execute high throughput data analysis methods in a timely manner.
•    Apply iPSC culture and differentiation protocols to small and large-scale cell culture.
•    Review current literature and implement new technology and concepts in the lab.
•    Communicate experimental status and results to the project team in group meetings through presentations.
•    Interact with team members and other departments on a daily basis.
•    Transfer processes and assays to manufacturing and quality control.
•    Adhere to budget and time constraints.
•    Document experiments conducted in lab notebooks effectively, organized and timely.
•    Write SOPs, manufacturing protocols and Quality Control Protocols.

Essential Job Requirements:
•    Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in stem cell biology, cell biology, developmental biology, neurobiology, biomedical engineering or a closely related scientific field.
•    A minimum of three years hands-on laboratory experience post-graduation, preferably in an industry setting.
•    Experience with cell culture, flow cytometry, imaging and molecular biology methods.
•    Applicants should possess a strong work ethic, initiative, the ability to multi-task, and a desire to acquire new technical skills.
•    Flexibility to change project objectives quickly and enthusiastically.
•    Applicants should have strong written and oral communication skills as well as the ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
•    Weekend work is required.

Physical Requirements:
•    Able to work in laboratory hood for extended periods of time.
•    Able to work with hazardous materials (i.e. chemicals, electrical equipment and human tissue) without endangering oneself or others.
•    Able to work at computer for extended periods of time.
•    Able to wear standard laboratory PPE.
