Our Client is the world’s leading juvenile products retailer, offering a differentiated shopping experience through its family of brands. Merchandise is sold in 877 stores in the United States and Puerto Rico, and in more than 685 international stores and over 170 licensed stores in 35 countries and jurisdictions.
They are about to open a European Import Centre near Rotterdam, the Netherlands. They have chosen a partner to handle the logistic operations. Currently they are building the internal team that will manage the relationships with internal and external stakeholders involved in the import process.
Job Description
The Inventory Control Department is responsible for the global product-flow, starting with import to the European Import Center in Rotterdam (from China) and ending with the delivery to local markets (including United Kingdom, France, Germany, Iberia and Poland)
As such, liaison between EIC and local markets will play an important part in the Inventory Control Manager’s role. The EIC and local markets will be communicating through TRU systems allowing the creation of a common item and vendor number across all European markets. In addition to this, the Inventory Control Manager will also deal directly with vendors and local markets to ensure maximum service level, maximum stock turn and minimal out-of-stocks.
Reporting directly to the Global Import Director, the Inventory Control Manager could in the future also be responsible of a team of Coordinators who in turn, are responsible for a group of import product categories.
Qualifications
- Between 5 and 10 years equivalent experience
- A stock control and supply chain background
- Previous working experience of automated replenishment & supervisory in a retail environment
- Previous management & supervisory experience
- Language level: fluent in English and another EU Language, preferably Dutch
- Start-up mentality
