Job Description

The Role – People & Payroll Shared Services Manager

 Reporting to the Director of People, you’ll play a central role as part of our People Services team. You’ll manage a team of Payroll and HR Shared Services Coordinators, assuming responsibility for ensuring processes are smooth and seamless, SLAs are met, and the Payroll / People functions collaborate effectively. Your role will be pivotal in shaping our HR processes and platforms. You’ll achieve this by:

 Leading a proactive, comprehensive, customer focused transactional HR service across the whole people lifecycle and organisation

Ensuring the team delivers best in class service to both line managers and employees

Working collaboratively with other members of the people team

Using your expert knowledge of payroll processes, right to work, recruitment and general employment legislation to manage and coach the HR Shared Services team

Taking responsibility for our payrolls and pension arrangements ensuring compliance with internal and external audit expectations

Analysing data to manage workflow and identify trends to minimise risk, and providing expert advice on optimal service delivery

Coordinating the reporting, dashboards and other metrics for HR data, ensuring that the People team can deliver an exceptional customer service

Qualifications

Proven experience delivering HR services in a customer focused environment, including payroll system set ups / implementations

 Experience gained managing a team of people, with the ability to engage and motivate colleagues

Experience analysing data to produce reports and redevelop processes

Superb knowledge of employment and data protection law, ATS systems and HMRC guidance / pension legislation

Excellent IT skills, with working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word

Ability to work under pressure, manage priorities and communicate effectively verbally and non-verbally

Although not essential, a CIPD / Payroll Manager qualification would be advantageous, as would extensive experience setting up, designing, and implementing HR processes within a complex organisation, along with knowledge of MHR iTrent Systems.

Additional Information

Salary in the region of £45,000, level dependent on experience

Permanent contract, working 37 hours per week

Flexible working arrangements, with the option to either work from home or combine this with working from our offices in Brasted (Kent) and flexibility with structuring work around personal commitments
