Job Description
As Regional Coordinator your main accountabilities will include:
· The case-management of Code4000 students across several prison academies, and at each stage of their journey; you will work with them to ensure they make the most of their time on the course and utilise their coding skills effectively upon release
· Always with one eye on their release, you will work with Code4000 students to find them work, or further education / training, in the technology industry; working with employers, charities, and other agencies, you will offer a bespoke package of support that may include fund-raising, housing, or help to relocate
· You will build partnerships with high-profile, high-value employers around the country to secure employment opportunities for our students.
· You will be the link between Code4000 and each of our partner prisons; based in prisons in all around England, and will promote the Code4000 programme in the establishment and throughout the prison community
· You will be a positive role model for our students and will work with them on a 1:1 or group basis to help provide them with the motivation and skills they need to work successfully in the tech industry on release
· You will build relationships with a range of organisations, typically within the criminal justice field, to develop opportunities and support students following their release
· Actively promote equalities and diversity taking account of each student’s different needs.
· Maintain records in accordance with Probation, Prison and Organisational policies and procedures.
· Use relevant information and technology appropriately with proper attention to data security.
· Engage in supervision and appraisal meetings with the line manager and take opportunities to undertake further personal development activities.
· Maintain personal responsibility to ensure absenteeism and lateness is monitored effectively ensuring compliance does not fall below the agreed levels for the organisation following the direction of Catch22 policy to seek support and guidance where unique circumstances may occur.
· Ensure that you maintain high standards of professional performance at all times through adherence to the Catch22 policies and procedural frameworks.
Qualifications
As a Regional Coordinator with responsibility for supporting students in addressing their needs, you will have a great opportunity to be a positive influence for change and to work with a wide range of partners to improve student’s prospects on
‘Good’ in this role will include:
· A confident and professional approach to supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds who may present with multiple difficulties.
· A knowledge of the tech-sector jobs market and the uses and applications of computer programming languages
· Ability to support students through their coding training and into the community upon release, and an awareness of the challenges ex-prisoners face upon leaving prison
· Ability to proactively manage a caseload of students in line with their needs, abilities, and levels of attainment
· An ability to drive business growth by identifying potential opportunities and promoting the Code4000 programme within day-to-day activity
· Ability to use digital systems and share information appropriately.
· Ability to understand/follow policies, procedures appropriate to the criminal justice sector.
· Able to be adaptable, working in challenging environments whilst maintaining a motivational approach.
· Ability to build and manage relationships, share knowledge and skills to deliver shared goals.
· Ability to identify/recognise risk, act according to risk management procedures when completing healthy relationship work.
· Attention to detail particularly relating to recording of work and meeting of deadlines.
· Excellent communications skills with the ability to adapt messages to the audience receiving them and always retain confidentiality.
Additional Information
The role of Regional Coordinator is not a technical role, and it is not necessary to be able to code in order to fulfil it. However, an understanding of the uses of coding, the different languages and their purpose, and the software development employment market (or a willingness to develop that understanding), is essential. Salary: Grade D - £24,905 - £27,750 per annum.
