Our 1,300 colleagues and 300 volunteers work at every stage of the social welfare cycle, supporting over 60,000 individuals from cradle to career. Our work spans education, social justice and rehabilitation, children's social care, family support, social action and getting people into work.

Catch22’s Incubate, Accelerate, Amplify programme, delivered in partnership with the National Lottery Community Fund, supports social entrepreneurs with future-focused ideas that reimagine how public services are delivered.

We offer a two-year programme of tailored support which also includes a £30,000 grant, access to relevant services and delivery experts, a dedicated mentor and a co-working space alongside a growing community of social entrepreneurs.

Since launching in 2016, we’ve worked with 8 social entrepreneurs who have launched award-wining social ventures like Unlocked Graduates, Offploy and Lighthouse, who have collectively secured over £17mn in income and are driving reform across the public sector.

Job Description

We are looking for a Venture Support Coordinator. In this role you’ll be part of a two-person team that is responsible for the delivery of Catch22’s Incubate, Accelerate, Amplify programme, supporting social entrepreneurs with future-focused ideas that reimagine how public services are delivered.

You’ll be joining at a crucial time as we’ve just selected 4 new social entrepreneurs after running our first ever open application process. In this role, you’ll deliver tailored support to each of the ventures, help to develop our engagement strategy as we build out our partnerships and ensure the operational excellence that’s required to make the programme truly transformative for the social entrepreneurs we support.

You will be very hands-on, working with our social entrepreneurs every week of the year. And while we’re proud of what we’ve achieved since 2016, our incubation programme is still at an early stage of development meaning you will have significant autonomy to experiment with the delivery of the programme.

As Venture Support Coordinator, some of the big challenges we want you to take on are to:

  • Provide exceptional support to our early-stage social ventures so they can achieve national impact and become leaders in the social enterprise sector.
  • Develop and implement our engagement strategy as we look to secure the long-term sustainability of our programme.
  • Nurture a diverse pool of talent and set of partnerships to support, challenge and inspire our social entrepreneurs.
  • Ensure that the programme runs like a well-oiled machine and maximise Catch22’s resources for the benefit of our social entrepreneurs.
  • Support innovation across Catch22 to make us better at delivering public services that work for the people who need them most.

For more detail on this role, please see the job description.

Qualifications

We expect applicants will have a broad variety of backgrounds and length of experience. As a general rule, we hold ‘number of years’ much more loosely than valuable experience, skills, capabilities, potential and most importantly of all: a ‘can-do’ attitude.

What does good look like for this role?

  • You’re exceptionally well-organised. You are comfortable managing a large to-do list, skilfully prioritizing while meeting the expectations of others.
  • You’re a highly empathetic and patient relationship-builder. You’re a master communicator: charming, persuasive, an exceptional listener. From pitching for investment to coaching our social entrepreneurs, you’ll intuitively know how to communicate.
  • You’ve got experience of facilitating learning and development, love tinkering and are unafraid of failure. You bring new ideas to the table, experiment with different social innovation methods and models and are adept at making the most of limited resources. You also don’t mind when things don’t work out because that’s where the best learning happens.
  • You’re a continual learner who loves giving and receiving direct feedback and doesn’t mind saying ‘I don’t know’. You love reading and are able to synthesis information quickly to produce stellar recommendations and insights. You seek out opportunities for rapid personal development and are generous in providing insights into how others how can be better.
  • You’re not afraid of working hard in pursuit of a big vision.
