Job Description

As Senior Accountant, you will be required to execute the following tasks for Federal Government Agencies:

  • Analyze and reconcile general ledger to subsidiary ledgers

  • Complete fund analytics for each budget fiscal year/fund

  • Research abnormal balances at the trial balance level for each budget fiscal year/fund

  • Complete fluctuation analysis of general ledger accounts or assigned functional areas for all variances greater than established threshold and by established timeline  

  • Research and process corrections affecting the Statement of Differences in the financial related systems, and  financial transactions that affect the general ledgers and subsequent financial statements

  • Prepare and process accounting entries in the financial system

  • Analyze transactions, recommend accrual methodologies, and validate accrued amount/assumptions for various areas

  • Conduct process review of tasks/activities/reports preparation and automate them using Excel advance functions to the fullest extent

  • Provide support on the annual financial statement audit to include pulling documentation, completely prepared-by-client items, and reviewing support for completeness and quality control

  • Document procedures for all tasks performed, including reconciliation

  • Provide clarification, status updates, and responses to questions from COR. Effectively communication and deal tactfully with all staff members from outside offices regarding the coordination of workflows and procedures

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field with accounting courses 
  • GASB (Governmental Accounting Standards Board) Knowledge
