Who You’ll Work With: software engineers, sales, customer success, other Casebook product managers, and executive staff, caseworkers and other staff in government and non-profit human services agencies, designers.
What You’ll Do:
Have empathy for our customers - understand the complex and variable nature of non-profit leadership and their need to improve their experience with data to better their organizations, staff and populations they serve
Manage the product roadmap and prioritization process for data and reporting features and experiences on the Casebook platform used by human service agencies. Breaks down the deliverables into discrete commitments (sprint planning) for features
Responsible for all product management activities for reporting and data products in order to meet business strategy and to support company and user goals
Produces product requirements for initiatives, soliciting and incorporating feedback from marketing, UX, engineering teams.
Develops and leverages a deep understanding of the human services data market in order to address primary user needs and increase competitive advantage
Conduct competitive research by evaluation, working with internal teams and running research sessions with customers
Evangelizes data and reporting capabilities with sales prospects when requested
Collaborate and coordinate across the organization - at all levels - to identify, refine platform data priorities moving forward
Understand and describe key metrics in the government and non-profit human services technology market, regulatory environment and customer needs for data to internal teams to evolve the Casebook platform data model towards increasing human services standard fit
Represent the product vision to your Agile development team, define stories for execution and participate in acceptance testing to identify work as complete
Develop and iterate on product roadmaps, release plans, and other supporting materials to share your solutions with internal and external teams
Produce and edit materials for data modeling, for tool evaluation decisions, story breakdown meetings, user research sessions, product marketing and sales demonstrations
Act as technical consultant for customer success teams, helpdesk, trainers for reporting capabilities and dashboards
Ensures that all issues are identified, reported, tracked and resolved in a timely manner.
Define and produce product KPIs to be used in roadmap decision-making, feature decisions and making tradeoffs
3+ years experience in product development or management of data products
Experience with SaaS applications, microservices and APIs
Experience with SQL, and experience with BI tools
Demonstrated intra- or entre-preneurial experience, able to evaluate new feature opportunities and build business cases for pursuing them
Analytical and quantitative skills, ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions when developing business cases. Ability to clearly communicate these data insights to others through written and other forms of documentation.
Depth of experience prioritizing product development work and organizing team members around those priorities
Minimum 1 year experience in user story-writing, acceptance criteria definition, managing a backlog and understanding how to keep a development team working efficiently
Strong presentation skills, particularly the ability to demo technology and to convey complex information and decision-related data in concisely and logically for internal engineer and product audiences, and in a compelling and engaging manner for sales, marketing and customers
Strong interpersonal and team skills, with active listening abilities and instincts
Demonstrated experience and skills succeeding in a startup environment: tenacious, self-directed, flexible, strategic but can turn on a dime, able to inspire others and to be inspired
Willingness to go the extra mile to make things happen; ability to travel up to 20% of time
Preferred experience in government reporting or enterprise technology projects (particularly if you were dissatisfied and want to make a bigger impact)
