Job Description

  • Participate in every part of the design process, from ideation to iteration, testing and development

  • Shape the design vision of the products and features you work on, and establish short-term and long-term milestones to achieve them

  • Create person-centered designs that utilize responsive layouts, interactivity, and animation to tell compelling stories by considering market analysis, customer feedback, and usability findings

  • Use business requirements, market research and systems thinking to assist in developing use cases, high-level requirements

  • Use and contribute to a growing design system which includes component/pattern libraries, branding tone & voice style guides and guidance and governance documentation

  • Present design work to the user experience team, product team, and executives for review and feedback

  • Be able to explain your  design rationale through the lens of user led, data driven design thinking

  • Adapt quickly and creatively to any situation

  • Conduct secondary and primary research (User, A/B tests, etc.) to validate design decisions and assumptions, with support from User Research and Product Managers.

  • Help cultivate a strong design culture at Casebook PBC


  • 3+ years' experience as a UX or web product designer

  • Online portfolio demonstrating user-centered design solutions, with an emphasis on examples of products you’ve directly contributed to that have shipped to real world users

  • Ability to create wireframes and/or other artifacts necessary to communicate functional design and interfaces, user flows and information architecture

  • Ability to wear multiple design hats - strong visual design skills a plus

  • Fluency in standard design and prototyping tools (We use a variety of tools & techniques, including sketching, whiteboarding, Figma,  and live code prototypes

  • Shows a desire to contribute to a growing design organization through collaborative discussion, critique, and willingness to take/give feedback

  • Proven record of working collaboratively in a team setting with other designers

  • Understands that trying and learning new things is at the heart of what they do as designers

  • Detail oriented and self-starter personality

  • Comfortable with Agile product management methodology and tools

  • Proven history of managing multiple product efforts simultaneously

  • Strong communication & presentation skills

  • Experience collaborating closely with Product Managers & Engineers

  • Experience with user research and usability testing

  • Experience building and maintaining design systems, preferred

  • Knowledge of Accessibility/Section 508/WCAG AA compliance

Bonus points 

  • Working understanding of CSS

  • Basic working understanding of JavaScript, and in particular React

  • Experience designing for low-tech-literacy applications

  • Experience designing applications used in complex business workflows

  • Experience in the human service space
