Job Description

About the Role

This is a dual-channel commercial role responsible for running both the sales and supply sides of Carousell Mobile Malaysia's online operations. You will handle all inbound buyer chats to convert sales, and all inbound supplier chats via Qontak to secure supply collection — then log every conversion in detail into Google Sheets for the operations team to process.

You own the front-end of both channels. Once a supply collection is confirmed, you hand off to the operations team for physical pickup and fulfilment. This role suits someone who is organised, fast with communication, commercially sharp, and takes full ownership of their numbers across both directions.

What You Will Do

Sales — Buyer Chat Handling & Conversion

  • Manage all inbound buyer chats across online platforms (Carousell, Lazada, and others)

  • Respond promptly and professionally to queries on product condition, warranty, pricing, and delivery

  • Convert inbound leads into confirmed sales through clear, persuasive communication

  • Handle objections confidently and guide buyers toward a purchase decision

  • Identify opportunities to upsell higher-value devices or suggest relevant alternatives

  • Execute follow-ups on cold or pending leads to recover lost conversions

  • Execute WhatsApp broadcast campaigns to past buyers with relevant offers

Supply — Supplier Chat Handling & Collection Conversion

  • Manage all inbound supplier chats via Qontak (Carousell Mobile Sellto, Lazada, and other supply channels)

  • Respond to seller enquiries on pricing, device grading, and collection process

  • Convert supplier leads into confirmed supply collection appointments

  • Coordinate collection handoff to the operations team once supplier is confirmed

  • Follow up on pending or uncommitted suppliers to close the supply pipeline

Data Entry & Google Sheets Logging

  • Log every sales conversion in detail into the designated Google Sheets tracker

  • Log every supply collection confirmation with full details — device info, seller contact, collection date, and status

  • Keep all records up to date in real time to enable smooth ops processing

  • Flag discrepancies or data issues to the Malaysia lead immediately

Coordination & Reporting

  • Coordinate with the operations team (Uze) on fulfilment, delivery updates, and supply collection scheduling

  • Flag recurring buyer or supplier issues to management for process improvement

  • Track personal conversion metrics across both channels and report weekly performance

 

Qualifications

 

  • Strong written communication in Bahasa Malaysia and English — clear, warm, and professional

  • Commercially sharp — motivated by converting both buyers and suppliers, not just replying to chats

  • Organised and detail-oriented; able to manage multiple active chats simultaneously and keep data entry accurate

  • Proactive follow-up habits — you chase the close on both the sales and supply side

  • Comfortable handling two distinct chat workflows (buyer-facing and seller-facing) at the same time

  • Prior experience in e-commerce, retail sales, or a customer-facing commercial role is preferred

  • Familiarity with platforms such as Carousell, Lazada, Qontak, or similar is a strong advantage

  • Proficient with Google Sheets — able to log detailed data accurately and consistently

  • Comfortable working in a lean, fast-moving team with minimal hand-holding
