About the role 

Our mission is to inspire every person in the world to start selling and buying to make more possible for one another. The product managers of Carousell Business Unit (BU), within Carousell Group, lead this exciting mission by redefining what online classifieds can be — smart, convenient and safe. We constantly look at data and talk to our users to understand what they’re doing, thinking and feeling along their user journey and empathise with their needs. This user-centric approach guides us in crafting the best user experiences.

We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to join us in India or Singapore to help grow the marketplace in Carousell BU’s 6 operating markets, building products for buyers, sellers, buyer-seller interactions, and user acquisition and retention. We are a small team so the scope is broad and diverse, including buyer discovery, listings supply, buyer/seller communication, product catalog, martech and the user lifecycle. You’ll work with engineering, design, data, marketing and business partners to deeply understand user problems and market opportunities, and conceive creative solutions based on those insights that grow the marketplace and enable monetization.

Job Description

You will:

  • Contribute to product strategy and vision for Carousell’s Marketplace, working with other PMs and technology and business leaders

  • Plan and execute product initiatives to improve marketplace user experience, liquidity and deliver growth.

  • Combine usage data, market and user research, and industry best practices to understand the domain deeply and identify user problems and breakthrough opportunities. Lead product discovery with designers, engineers and business stakeholders to identify and solve for user value, usability, technical and business risks.

  • Transform user problems into validated solutions using technology, data science and analytics, support processes and marketplace policies. 

  • Ruthlessly prioritize, drive stakeholder alignment, proactively manage risks & dependencies.

  • Drive go to market and product launches, partnering with marketing and business stakeholders to prepare branding and marketing materials, user communication/education. Own product adoption, use and post-launch learnings.

  • Measure and own impact of initiatives, decide and communicate success or failure, identify key learnings and integrate them in overall user, product & feature understanding.

  • Contribute to product management functional excellence across Carousell.

  • Ability and interest to use AI tools to accelerate product discovery, development as well as creating AI driven products when that is the best solution. 

  • Familiarity with effective product development processes and rapid product development techniques, such as Design sprints, Story mapping and others

  • ~8+ years building user‑facing products, including ~4+ years as a PM (or equivalent founder/lead experience).

  • Bachelor’s degree, with strong academic record, in Computer Science or a related field such as Math, Physics, Engineering, Finance, Economics, or Business Administration. Masters preferred.
