Job Description

About the role:

We’re looking for an Accounting Executive who will be responsible for running the accounting and financial activities at Carousell. She/He will be supporting financial operations of Refash Malaysia, a subsidiary of Carousell,and provide financial information  to other departments, enabling them to make critical decisions. This role will report into the Finance Manager

Responsibilities:

  • Month-end book closing; handling full set of accounts, prepare bank reconciliation, prepare audit schedules and reconciliation of all balance sheets and P/L accounts etc
  • Maintenance of transactional documents including agreements, invoices etc
  • Retail support: Support requests from existing offline, online stores and events. Provide finance support in opening and closing of offline stores.
  • AR transaction processing: Prepare reconciliation of store sales against payments received and process sales transactions
  • AP transaction processing : Monitor and review AP transaction processing and payments performed by the shared service team
  • Fixed asset management:Monitor and review fixed asset additions and disposals performed by the shared service team.
  • Design and implementation of system and control governance and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
  • Assist the Finance Manager in other ad-hoc queries to support the daily business tasks and other accounting related tasks

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting or finance industry
  • Minimum qualification of diploma in accounting or ACCA
  • A high level of rigour, energy, discipline to operate both independently and in team
  • Ability to work in an unstructured environment where continuous learning and adapting is required to support business growth and experimentation
  • Attention to detail and deadline-oriented
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience in Retail a strong plus
  • Experience in Netsuite would be an added advantage
