Job Description

PLC Programmer to assist with electrical and software design where required, start-up and debug equipment at the Build Shop, and then support field technicians at the customers site for installation and commissioning. Duties include: Direct and Inspect equipment installation, supervise equipment start up. Assist in checking new operating manuals, along with recommending any required changes. Assist parts department in handling telephone communications with customer concerning service orders. Communicate with customers concerning problems and advice. Work with Sales, Engineering, or Manufacturing regarding field requests. Advise of service problems that indicate design or manufacturing deficiencies and the like. Develop in-field checklist as required. Promote good customer relations.

Qualifications

Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics or Engineering. Minimum of 2 year PLC programming experience and knowledge of process instrumentation and control systems. Experience with HMI programming, Ethernet/IP, DeviceNet, Modbus-TCP, Modbus-RTU and DIN Rail components. A working background in PLC, control circuit wiring, Electro-pneumatic systems, PID controller and computer based programs. Experience in commissioning and startup of control systems. Ability to work with plant engineers, external vendors, operators and management to manage projects and assignments. Ability to troubleshoot control systems from the field element up through operator interfaces.
