Geologist/Exploration Geologist – Mining
The role is based in South America and it would be beneficial if the candidate can speak Spanish but he/she should be fluent in English.
REQUIREMENTS:
· The ideal candidate will preferably have an Msc degree in geology with at least 10 to 15 years of experience.
· Experience in epithermal gold and silver as well as in Polymetalic gold and silver systems.
· Deep mine experience looking after a range of services including 4 u/g drills, grade control, surface drills etc.
· Extensive experience as a mine geologist to advise and lead the team on the mine.
· Provide exploration geology advice to mine management establishing an extensive drilling plan in order to provide expert opinions on the where and when to be included in the mining plan.
· Will be responsible for identifying and assessing the location, quantity and quality of mineral deposits.
THE CANDIDATE WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING HANDS ON SKILLS:
· Knowledge of a range of sciences and their applications
· Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers
· Good organisational skills
· Computer literacy and ability to analyse numerical and graphical data
· Good written and verbal communication skills
· Geological mapping, rock recognition, structural geology, knowledge of geochemistry and geophysics, GIS, etc.
· Have demonstrated experience in economic geology.
