Job Description

Care.com is seeking a Vice President of Finance to lead the financial strategy and operations across the company. This executive will own financial strategy,  spanning Consumer (Care Core), Enterprise, and Central functions and serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO, CFO, and business unit General Managers.

The ideal candidate brings deep experience in a consumer-facing marketplace or platform business, the executive presence to influence at the highest levels, and a track record of building high-performing finance organizations, leveraging AI and modern financial tools to drive smarter, faster decisions in a fast-paced environment.

Enterprise Financial Leadership

  • Own financial strategy, P&L oversight, and long-range planning across all business units
  • Drive cohesive forecasting, budgeting, and capital allocation enterprise-wide

Strategic Partnership

  • Serve as the primary financial advisor to the CEO, CFO, and GM of each business unit
  • Leverage AI-driven analytics and financial data to deliver insights that shape product, pricing, and go-to-market decisions

Team Building & Leadership

  • Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing finance organization across FP&A, business finance, and strategic finance
  • Build team capabilities to scale with the business; cultivate a culture of rigor, curiosity, and accountability

Revenue & Profitability Management

  • Oversee revenue performance, unit economics, and margin optimization across all lines of business
  • Lead pricing strategy and monetization initiatives in close collaboration with Product, Marketing, and Operations

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Drive efficiency and accuracy in planning cycles through automation and AI-enabled forecasting tools
  • Lead the annual operating plan, multi-year financial model, and quarterly forecasting cycles

Business Performance & KPIs

  • Define and own the enterprise-wide metrics framework
  • Use AI-powered reporting and forecasting tools to give leadership real-time visibility into business health and early risk signals

Investor & Board Readiness

  • Ensure financial reporting and narratives are board-ready and aligned with investor expectations
  • Partner with the CFO on investor relations materials and strategic communications

Risk Management & Governance

  • Identify and proactively communicate financial and operational risks across the enterprise
  • Develop frameworks and controls that support disciplined, long-term value creation

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of progressive finance experience with at least 5 years in a VP-level or enterprise-scope leadership role
  • Proven experience in a consumer-facing business — marketplace or platform company experience required
  • Demonstrated success building, developing, and leading high-performing finance teams
  • Exceptional financial modeling, forecasting, and business case development skills
  • Strong command of consumer/marketplace economics: LTV, CAC, take rate, cohort analysis, and unit economics
  • Familiarity with AI-powered financial tools and a demonstrated ability to lead teams through technology-driven process improvement
  • Ability to operate as both strategic advisor and hands-on operator — goes deep without losing sight of the big picture
  • Proven track record of building cross-functional alignment across Product, Marketing, Engineering, and Operations
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field

Preferred

  • Background in investment banking, private equity, consulting, or high-growth corporate FP&A
  • Experience partnering with a board or parent company (public company or PE-backed environment)
  • Comfort with ambiguity and experience thriving in fast-paced, evolving organizations
  • MBA or advanced degree

Salary Range:  $250,000- $285,000 The base salary range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the national salary range for this position. Actual salaries may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Care.com’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses and short- and long-term incentives. In addition, Care.com provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, life, and disability insurance, a generous 401K employer matching program, paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO).
