- Location: Pomona, CA
- Compensation: $273,000 – $348,000 based on experience.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday schedule. only day or swing shift.

Addiction Medical Director – LA County
Join a leadership team providing trauma-informed, evidence-based care for clients in LA County’s residential and withdrawal management programs. The Addiction Medical Director oversees clinical operations, ensures quality care, and leads a multidisciplinary team of providers. Responsibilities include direct patient care, supervision and training of clinical staff, performance management, and participation in policy development. This role is primarily based at our Pomona Residential site, with oversight of additional county programs as needed.
Requirements
- M.D. or D.O. from an accredited school; valid CA medical license and DEA certification.
- Board certified or experienced in Addiction Medicine with MAT experience.
- BLS/ACLS certification (or ability to obtain before hire).
- Experience treating individuals with substance use, mental health, or justice-involved backgrounds.
- Must pass background check/livescan and be fully vaccinated (medical/religious exemptions available).
- Ongoing CME and travel to program sites required.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership
- Provide on-site leadership across LA County programs per schedule and as needed.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to integrate behavioral health and medical services.
- Mentor and support providers; represent programs in county and funder meetings.
- Promote high-quality care and operational excellence.
Clinical
- Oversee and deliver addiction treatment and withdrawal management services.
- Provide MAT, clinical supervision, and peer review for medical staff.
- Ensure quality, compliant, and efficient patient care in coordination with nursing and leadership.
- Review charts, sign clinical documents, and maintain availability for consultation.
Administrative & Compliance
- Approximately 60% administrative and 40% clinical responsibilities (ratio may be adjusted as needed).
- Participate in clinical committees, audits, and quality improvement efforts.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, 42 CFR, and funder regulations.
- Support provider performance evaluations, training, and workflow optimization
Documentation:
- Maintain accurate, timely clinical records per agency and regulatory standards.
- Develop and monitor treatment plans and ensure proper documentation.
