Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

The purpose of this role is to oversee the completion and deployment of Takunda’s Collaboration Learning & Adaptation (CLA) strategy. The CLA Lead will review current progress in the setting up of the program’s CLA process and update it as required. Takunda is a five-year Resilience Food Security Activity (RFSA), that started in October 2020 and is funded through September 2025. The US$ 55 Million program is designed to achieve sustainable food and nutrition security. This position is based in Mutare with frequent travel to Zaka, Chivi, Buhera and Harare in Zimbabwe. The CLA Lead will report to the Chief of Party.
 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Support the program team in development of relevant tools and procedures needed to deliver the on the agenda • Deliver capacity building support to strengthen the teams CLA procedures • Recommend procedures and staffing amendments to address any specific gaps • Lead the refinement of and documentation of the program’s collaboration strategy
  • Support the program team in refining and nurturing identified internal and external collaboration opportunities • Work with the M&E team to review timing of presentation of M&E data in formats that support adaptation • Using the identified learning agenda and lessons already captured to model a process for initiating program adaptation using real time examples.
  • Ensure the DFSA’s activity includes active, intentional, and adaptive learning within and across its multi-sectoral interventions, serving as an integral participant in incorporating all Refine and Implement (‘Refinement’) activities into implementation.
  • Review the program’s capacity to follow through with the CLA cycle for adaptive management
  • Ensure appropriate and continued coordination and joint planning with other USAID and donor activities (specifically the USAID food security and resilience portfolio), host government initiatives, and private sector engagement.
  • • Contribute to the development of project PREP documents such as proposals, results framework, budgets, Detailed Implementation Plan (DIP) and other project documents.

Qualifications

  • Relevant tertiary education and at least five years’ experience in Knowledge Management, Learning, Innovation, Collaboration, Research and Adaptation roles. A mix of any of three areas plus monitoring and evaluation will be considered. 
  •  Demonstrated experience in food security, nutrition, and livelihoods sectors. 
  • Experience in conducting quantitative and qualitative field research, and experience working closely with universities and/or other research institutions. 
  • Experience in designing, facilitating, and evaluating learning activities, across different areas, forums and stakeholders. 
  • Understanding and experience in developing and leading stakeholder engagement activities, knowledge management programs, and communities of practice. 
  • Experience in communicating research and evaluation findings to stakeholders and facilitating the use of the learning products for improving policy and practices.
  • Ability to work cross-culturally with diverse teams. 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English. 
  • Strong knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methodologies, and results synthesis, evaluation, and presentation of data analysis for various audiences (policy makers, program managers, field staff, and/or government and community stakeholders).
  •  Familiarity with current international development challenges and their implications for livelihoods programming.
