CARE began working in Zimbabwe in 1992 in response to a severe regional drought. After establishing a drought mitigation program, CARE began longer term developmental programs with local partners in building small dams, strengthening local microfinance institutions, and launching projects to assist small businesspersons in the rural areas.

Job Description

To provide adequate monitoring and evaluation support to the implementation of the “Scaling up Adolescent Personal leadership skills Development, Voice and Agency (PCTFI project in line with donor requirements while adding value and improving programming through timely provision of quality monitoring and evaluation information.

  • Supports the development and review of M&E framework and tools to track results.
  • Supports in the baseline, and end line evaluation and supervises enumerators during data collection.
  • Collects data to track all project outcomes including adolescent and school led activities and supervises data collection by project staff or stakeholders.
  • Consolidates process and analyse data at district level to ensure data for decision making process.
  • Updates targets, outlines detailed definition of each indicator, methods, and frequency of data collection for all indicators and who will be responsible for collecting the data and analysis methods.
  • Conducts routine Data Quality Assessments to ensure that data is accurate and truly reflect project outputs and outcomes.
  • Inputs into the project reporting templates, produces reports on project and submits to the MEAL Specialist.
  •  Produces, compiles and aggregates qualitative data and documents such as lessons learnt summaries, case studies, Most Significant Change stories, and submits to M & E Specialist.
  •  Promotes and maintains an organizational culture that advances gender equality, reduces power abuse and inequalities, and fosters trust and safety.

Qualifications

  •  Degree in Social Sciences/Development Studies/Statistics/Mathematics or equivalent
  • 3-5 years working experience in Monitoring and Evaluation or related field
  • Understanding of the nexus between ASRH, gender, and basic literacy and numeracy skills , and leadership development to education learning outcomes such as attendance, retention, and completion
