CARE began working in Zimbabwe in 1992 in response to a severe regional drought. After establishing a drought mitigation program, CARE began longer term developmental programs with local partners in building small dams, strengthening local microfinance institutions, and launching projects to assist small businesspersons in the rural areas.

Job Description

•    Liaises with the Project Manager and discusses project details / activities as per project document
•    Formulates District financial and asset control plans for the district 
•    Develops activity budgets in line with project budget.
•    Coordinates and facilitates the provision of technical assistance in the implementation of activities
•    Reviews reports from Project Field Assistants (PFAs) & M&E Assistants and consolidate data for project level reports.
•    Consolidate all distribution list for NFIs, In kind Support and Cash for all planned activities 
•    Prepares Personal Activity Report (PAR) for own monthly activity and review, sign off and ensure consolidation of PARs supports
•    Carries out ongoing evaluation of staff, identifies performance strengths and deficiencies, and arranges for necessary action (for example further on the job training)
•    Monitors the overall welfare of staff (such as sickness, death of family), and takes the appropriate action for immediate assistance
•    Identifies disciplinary problems or issues relating to staff and, through the Project Manager, arranges for the necessary disciplinary action
•    Manages project resources allocated to the project at district level (such as petty cash, food, NFIs and fuel)
•    Monitors compliance and accountability in the use of resources in line with CARE and  donor requirements
•    Supervises the monitoring of project activities at district level
•    Receives and consolidates project data and submits to Project Manager on weekly, monthly basis
•    Coordinates with internal and external stakeholders by sharing project information, reports and activities
•    Secure and manage the safety of all project reports and documentation
•    Avail Monitoring and Evaluation reports to the PQM
•    Prepares and submits timely all weekly and monthly reports as per the Donor guidelines
 

Qualifications

•    Degree in Development Studies/Social Sciences or equivalent
•    4-6 years’ experience in community development /humanitarian work at Supervisory level
•    Good interpersonal and communication skills. 
•    Strong coordination and planning skills.
•    Strong analytical skills and decisiveness
•    Good public relations, team player and able to work under strenuous conditions
