Company Description: CareFlite is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit ambulance service sponsored by Baylor Scott & White Health, JPS Health Network, Methodist Health System, Parkland, and Texas Health Resources.  CareFlite provides medical transport by helicopter, airplane, and ground ambulance, and non-medical transport via wheelchair van.

Job Description

PRIMARY FUNCTION
As a Ground Field Supervisor, this position requires the personal skills to be an effective leader and the ability to inspire individuals by communicating needed changes, motivating individuals to become active members of a team, and encouraging self-development through effective leadership.

REPORTS TO / SUPERVISES

This position reports directly to the Operations Manager. The Ground Field Supervisor will directly supervise medical and non-medical personnel assigned to his or her shift/location(s).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The Ground Field Supervisor is responsible for ensuring his/her team members follow the CareFlite scope of practice including policy and procedures.
  • The Ground Field Supervisor is responsible for promoting a positive environment and developing positive collaboration between CareFlite staff and their internal and external customers.
  • The Ground Field Supervisor will keep the Operations Manager apprised of all operational issues that arise while they are on duty and will work collaboratively with all CareFlite departments.
  • The Ground Field Supervisor is required to attend all CareFlite Leadership activities.
  • The Ground Field Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of CareFlite ground medical and non-medical personnel to ensure shift duties are completed in an efficient and timely manner.
  • The Ground Field Supervisor is responsible for assisting in the interview process for ground medical and non-medical personnel and make recommendations for hire as requested.
  • The Ground Field Supervisor will ensure all concerns regarding safety are reported in a professional manner that includes appropriate, timely, and comprehensive documentation following CareFlite’s progressive learning opportunities.
  • The Ground Field Supervisor is responsible for fostering and developing positive relationships with CareFlite’s external customers.
  • The Ground Field Supervisor will be responsible for review of and follow up on all ground medical and non-medical reports generated by line personnel.
  • The Ground Field Supervisor will participate in the development, implementation, and administration of CareFlite’s quality assurance and improvement initiatives and programs.
  • The Ground Field Supervisor will assist the Operation Manager in setting the budget for their base(s) by identifying capital equipment items as requested.
  • The Ground Field Supervisor will maintain excellent attendance and punctuality.
  • The Ground Field Supervisor will deliver constructive criticism of subordinates or supervisors in a private setting in a positive and respectful manner.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS/ KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Completion of high school or its equivalent.
  • Current Texas State Paramedic certification
  • Must obtain a City of Dallas Ambulance Permit if not required for the current division
  • Current Texas Class C Driver License
  • BLS, ALCS, PHTLS, PALS, and NRP
