CarLabs specializes in building conversational experiences in the automotive vertical. We're building out a platform for Messenger bots, Alexa skills, Google Assistant/Home, and web-widgets. Our goal is to change the way people find and learn about the best car for them. We want to allow our clients to create unique and creative experiences with responses backed by automotive data.

Technologically, we utilize a number of different technologies ranging from Elixir, to Node.js, to Python and PHP. We're starting to grow rapidly and are looking for a developer that can help us develop a scaleable and reliable platform for building out new bots for upcoming clients. We're a small team, so our developers wear many hats and operate in all parts of the stack, from data ingestion, to backend/front end development, and ops. We're looking for a developer that understands and takes ownership of the operation of their code.

Our Stack

Languages: Elixir, Node.js, Python, PHP

Frameworks: Phoenix, Hapi, React, Flask, Yii2, Laravel, GraphQL

Databases: PostgreSQL, MySQL, ElasticSearch, Redis

Infra: Elastic Beanstalk, EC2, Jenkins, Docker, RDS

- Experience with one or more of the following: Javascript, PHP, Python, Elixir.

- Experience with one or more MVC Frameworks: Yii2, Laravel, Phoenix, Rails, Django.

- Experience with a functional language is great (we strongly prefer people who can learn quickly and do quality work in multiple languages/paradigms).

- Experience with NLP or other areas of machine learning is great; a background in math, statistics, or engineering is good.

- Experience in ops is a big bonus; SQL and MVC experience are mandatory, as is clear, respectful communication.

- Familiarity with UNIX-based command line.

- Enthusiasm about cars is helpful, but not at all required.
