Marketing Manager

  • Full-time

Company Description

We have a simple yet ambitious goal; to sell train tickets in the easiest way possible for all European destinations. Booking a train should be just as simple as hopping on a train.

Capitaine Train was founded by 3 engineers obsessed with simplicity. Our organisational structure is very simple and linear: those who make product decisions are the same ones who build them. We are a young and small start-up (40 people) and we are growing very quickly. Your work will have a direct and visible impact on the growth of our company.

Our beautiful office is located in the heart of Paris. We’re surrounded by bars, restaurants, theatres, startups and are near the four main Parisian train stations. We offer a great package including fixed and variable salaries, an awesome health coverage plan plus stock options.

Job Description

You

You are experienced with online acquisition channels and perfectly comfortable with web and mobile products. You like to track the impact of your work and determine the best way to maximize your return. You love data analysis, you rely on it and you eat it for breakfast.

Data is nice, but it is not the only thing that matters. You also love to build brands. You don’t buy short-term marketing techniques, you prefer to create thorough strategies to convince people and earn their trust. You believe in the force of a product.

If this sounds like you, we have great projects for you.

Role

Your primary role will be to find new customers, because a few thousand are just not enough. You will choose your weapons depending on their efficiency only, to acquire, convince and retain our customers. You’ll be tasked with growing Captain Train’s brand awareness in the most efficient and engaging way.

We’re looking for a skilled and experienced leader to take our product marketing operations to the next level.

Concretely, it means you will be in charge of:

  • Defining and implementing our SEO strategy;
  • Setting up from the ground up all paid acquisition campaigns (Search, Facebook, Display, Remarketing…);
  • Managing & optimizing all existing acquisitions channels (affiliate program);
  • Identifying new partners and innovative initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Native speaker in French and fluent in English;
  • 5-8 years experience in general marketing and acquisition;
  • Strong knowledge of online marketing channels: SEO, SEM, SMO, ASO or whatever acronym you can think of;
  • Experience in running an affiliate & partnerships program;
  • Data-literate & LTV/Metrics-driven.

Pluses

  • Experience in communication and/or media;
  • Technically savvy;
  • Knowledge of other languages like German, Italian and/or Spanish;
  • Good understanding of the travel/rail industry.

Additional Information

We don’t really concentrate on résumés, just put a LinkedIn link in your email. Focus on describing your projects, your experiences and what you would like to bring to the team. Any written works or Twitter usernames are really useful to us.
