For almost twenty years, Capacity Builders, Inc. has dedicated its resources, determination and passion to working with the Diné (a traditional term for the Navajo) and other Native American communities in the United States. Our mission is to:
*Build the capacity of the neediest tribal nonprofits and communities through training and support programs so they are better able to improve the lives of Native American youth and families.
*Improve the health, wellness and quality of life of the Diné by providing direct services that include teen pregnancy prevention, drug and alcohol prevention, academic and service learning programs.
*Encourage love, appreciation, and understanding for one’s culture by incorporating cultural learning components in our programs.
Job Description
Responsible for managing the public relations department and the content it delivers. Ensures brand message is consistent, timely, and relevant.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Work with media outlets to publish timely company information, such as press releases, brochures, and other materials.
Ensure communication strategy is consistent and reflects the organization’s strategic vision.
Implement social media strategies.
Grow online supporter base and traffic.
Manage relationships with Existing clients, the local community and tribal governments
Produce and publish mass communications with email blasts and marketing campaigns.
Refine core messaging to ensure organizational consistency in all aspects of communication including development, organizing and education.
Ensure consistent framing of messages.
Publish videos and photography on company website and blogs.
Document presence of companies at events, conferences, and speaking engagements.
Develop the advertising, marketing and promotion plans.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree required
Extensive graphic design experience
Extensive computer knowledge
Organization and time management skills
Prior nonprofit public relations with nonprofit fundraising experience
Prior marketing background
Exceptional grammar skills
Knowledge in website development and social media coordination
Advertising skills
The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following capabilities:

Proven track record of exceeding goals and a bottom-line orientation.
Evidence of the ability to consistently make good decisions through a combination of analysis, wisdom, experience, and judgment.
High level of business acumen including successful management.
Ability to balance the delivery of programs against the realities of a budget.
Strategic vision and agility to think strategically, anticipate future consequences and trends, and incorporate them into the organizational plan.
Ability to juggle many responsibilities at once and to operate both independently and hands-on with the flexibility to be part of a team.
A track record of embracing challenges and able to act and react as necessary, even if limited information is available; not afraid to take charge of a situation; can overcome resistance to leadership and take unpopular stands when necessary.
