Job Description

Front-End engineers at CapTech are part of an intelligent, highly motivated community of engineers who strive to continuously learn the latest tools and architectures to deliver innovative solutions for our clients. They are involved in the design, development, and delivery of innovative web solutions in partnership with a variety of Fortune 500 clients.

Responsibilities 

Specific responsibilities for the Senior Front-End Engineer position include: 

  • Understand the challenges being addressed by an engagement and collaborate with team members, clients, and stakeholders to deliver a technical solution that meet the unique needs of our clients. 
  • Help our clients maximize the value of their web presence by building accessible, high-performance web applications using the latest web standards and technologies. 
  • Create quality deliverables to communicate technical solutions to appropriate audiences. 
  • Design, develop, unit test, and deploy web-based solutions using common standards and frameworks. 
  • Leverage CapTech’s internal programs and self-directed training to continually develop industry-relevant knowledge and skills. 
  • Provide technical mentoring and leadership to more junior consultants. 

Qualifications

Specific qualifications for the Senior Front-End Engineer position include: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, MIS or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 6+ years of demonstrated progression in standards-compliant web development (semantic HTML, CSS, and JavaScript) preferred. 
  • Strong experience with JavaScript libraries and frameworks (Angular, React and Vue) 
  • Understanding of performance testing and optimization techniques. 
  • Ability to present technical ideas, high-level concepts, and solutions to internal and external team members with varying degrees of technical knowledge. 
  • Ability to implement responsive designs and understand device-agnostic development techniques. 
  • Experience developing modern session data management strategies (ngrx, Redux, and MobX). 
  • Familiarity with CSS pre-processors (SASS/SCSS, Less, and Stylus). 
  • Understanding of modern front-end engineering best practices (accessibility, 508/WCAG compliance, performance optimization, etc.). 
  • Experience integrating with modern, industry-leading web content management platforms. 
  • High proficiency with development tools and workflows (modern source control systems, unit testing, continuous workflow, etc.).
