Our flagship campus is in Sydney. We also have a campus in Melbourne and co-working spaces in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide. But you have choice in where and how you work, we trust our Canvanauts to choose the balance that empowers them and their team to achieve their goals.

 

What you’d be doing in this role

As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.

 

At the moment, this role is focused on:

  • Conducting research with our Creator Communities to understand their wants, needs, and behaviours in a fast-changing environment.
  • Championing ML. You’ll always be seeking innovative and creative ways that ML can assist with Canva’s goal to be a world leader in AI-powered Design.
  • Designing tooling to help Canva and our Creator Communities get the best content into Canva effortlessly, while still maintaining quality standards across a global library of content.
  • Strategy & Vision. Working closely with the Design Lead and Product Manager to define and articulate the product strategy and vision for the Content Platform group.
  • Designing intuitive tooling to enable Canva’s content creators to localise their content for LOTE markets, and empower them to expand their audiences
  • Collaborating. You'll work closely with our Content Review Group, Teams collaborating towards AI Training and the wider Product Design Specialty to ensure that we deliver a holistic experience for Creators, Partners, and our internal design team
  • Iterating. You'll gather learnings through your research and internal data, fostering close relationships with our valued sources of insights - Creators, In-house Designers, Reviewers, Content Ops and Community Managers.

  • Experience conducting user research and usability testing. You're skilled in turning the outcomes into data to drive your design solutions.
  • Growth Mindset. You're eager to learn and develop your skills whilst having fun along the way!


About the team

As Product Designer in the Content Platform group, you’ll help to ensure a steady flow of beautiful content from around the world into the Canva library. The majority of the work will come through the Content Design Quality Team, the product team that sits within this larger group.

The Content Platform group is on a mission to drive the creation of high-quality Creator content in our key strategic markets, supporting our ‘Truly local’ strategy.

This group is also playing a key role in an exciting, cross-group initiative - building tooling to allow Canva to be at the forefront of advancements in Machine Learning for AI design generation.
