Our flagship campus is in Sydney. We also have a campus in Melbourne and co-working spaces in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide. But you have a choice in where and how you work. That means if you want to do your thing in the office (if you're near one), at home or a bit of both, it's up to you, however we have a preference for Sydney.

About the Role

We are looking for an influential and transformational individual to lead our FP&A Central Operations function - someone who seeks to redefine rather than follow the crowd. You are excited by the prospect of driving the evolution of the FP&A function, operating from first-principles, a driven self-starter, who delivers exceptional results.

As the Head of FP&A Central Operations, you will oversee implementation & model development in core FP&A systems for critical components of the P&L, including Cost of Revenues, Research & Development, and General & Administrative functions. You will streamline the systematic financial consolidation, reporting, forecasting, and data analysis to unify Canva's financial reporting and planning across Operations. Your focus will be on enhancing the efficiency of all Operations groups and enabling effective decision-making by implementing structured frameworks, processes, systems, and utilizing data effectively.

What you'd be doing

• You will lead the implementation of our core FP&A processes and systems across all critical business areas.
• You will enhance the entire company’s decision-making efficiency & clarity by achieving operational excellence across all FP&A's planning cadences, such as Re-forecasts, Annual Planning and Long Range Planning.
• You will operate highly independently while also collaborating deeply with finance stakeholders, developers and data owners across the business.
• You will own the design, development and deployment of sophisticated fit-for-purpose models, processes, and systems. Your impact will elevate forecast accuracy within the FP&A team to best-in-class status.
• Your extensive knowledge & experience will enable you to serve as the key link among FP&A teams. You will identify and integrate interdependent activities and projects into cohesive and streamlined FP&A operations.
• You will upskill all of FP&A's analytical capabilities by working closely with data & analysis teams to incorporate advanced data analysis techniques and tools into FP&A workflows.
• You will unlock extensive bandwidth for all of FP&A by leading the design & implementation of consolidated reporting and forecasting processes across all critical operational areas. You will be responsible for ensuring the scalability, consistency and timeliness of our reporting and planning processes.
• In collaboration with the Head of FP&A Operations, you will clarify and unify our narrative on cost structure and investment strategy across the entire business operations.

What we're looking for

• Deep financial and technical expertise, and a proven record of implementing company-wide core FP&A systems while building out fit-for-purpose models and processes that that meet the strategic and operational requirements of the company.
• Deep systems knowledge of Anaplan, including ability to architect.
• Demonstrated creative problem-solving abilities and the ability to drive complex projects in ambiguous environments.
• Proven track record operating in a fast growth and scaled public company environment.
• Brilliant communication and stakeholder management capabilities that enable you to collaborate effectively with stakeholders across the company to achieve desired outcomes.
• A professional who continually pushes the boundary, improving and elevating processes and systems to bring increasing value and efficiency to what we do.
