Job Description
Join the team redefining how the world experiences design.
Hey, g'day, mabuhay, kia ora, 你好, hallo, vítejte!
Thanks for stopping by. We know job hunting can be a little time consuming and you're probably keen to find out what's on offer, so we'll get straight to the point.
Where and how you can work
Our flagship Sydney campus is uniquely Canva - an extension of our Surry Hills neighbourhood. It’s a thoughtfully designed space with plenty of room to collaborate, focus, and connect.
Collingwood is home to our Melbourne campus - a vibrant, creative hub for connection and impactful work.
This role is based in Sydney or Melbourne. Our hybrid way of working gives you the flexibility to work remotely, and to come together on campus for meaningful in-person collaboration and connection when it matters most. We trust our Canvanauts to choose the balance that empowers them and their team to achieve their goals.
This is a fixed-term contract for 12 months.
What you'd be doing in this role
As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.
At the moment, this role is focused on:
Owning the end-to-end production of locally relevant graphics and motion content.
Providing creative direction, feedback and work allocation across the team.
Shaping AI-assisted workflows from experimentation through to publication.
Using data, search signals and market insights to identify content opportunities.
Translating strategy into clear creative priorities and production plans.
Ensuring assets meet Canva’s standards for craft, metadata and discoverability.
Collaborating with regional, platform and operational teams to improve production.
Sharing expertise through Canva’s Motion and Illustration team.
You're probably a match if
- You bring strong craft across graphics, illustration, and motion design.
- You’ve helped guide, give feedback on and elevate the work of other creatives.
- You’re comfortable experimenting with AI tools and art-directing AI-assisted creative work.
- You can use data and insights to inform creative decisions without losing sight of craft.
- You connect creative decisions with user needs and broader goals.
- You’re curious about different cultures and care about creating content that feels genuinely local.
- You enjoy collaborating with others while being comfortable owning your work.
About the team
You'll be part of the International Content team, sitting within Growth's Scale and Enablement function. This team makes Canva feel genuinely local for communities around the world, building the creative and operational systems that let bespoke and AI-generated content ship at scale without losing quality or cultural relevance.
You’ll play a key role in shaping how we do that - influencing creative direction, evolving our workflows, and helping set the standard for what great local content looks like at Canva.
