Job Description
What you'd be doing in this role
As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve. At the moment, this role is focused on:
- Leading global strategic content planning for World Class in Social Studies/History/HASS - including topic chunking, learning sequences, and resource prioritisation across grade levels
- Identifying curriculum gaps and determining the right production funnel (AI, localisation, EDU creators, partners) to fill them
- Prompting, designing, and reviewing AI-generated educational materials to ensure they meet Canva's content standards
- Briefing and reviewing new educational elements (illustrations, photos, videos, copy) for topic relevance, curriculum alignment, and grade-level appropriateness
- Creating EDU creator briefs and developing decision frameworks to guide content production workflows
- Working cross-functionally to embed new Canva capabilities into educational resources and support content health metrics by country
You're probably a match if
- You have hands-on experience creating engaging, curriculum-aligned resources for Social Studies and/or History — and you genuinely care about getting the content right
- You're comfortable working with AI tools and can craft effective prompts to generate high-quality educational materials at scale
- You can zoom out to lead content planning across multiple grade levels, then zoom back in to review a single brief for accuracy and clarity
- You thrive working cross-functionally and can proactively unblock issues to keep projects moving
- You have a strong grasp of what teachers and students actually need in the classroom, and you bring that lens to every piece of content you touch
