As Canva scales toward its next phase of growth, the Strategic Sourcing team plays a critical role in shaping supplier partnerships, strengthening commercial discipline, and building scalable contracting experiences that reduce friction and increase delight. We operate as a strategic extension of the business, balancing speed, value, and risk, and continuously raising the bar on commercial outcomes across all spend categories.

The Non-Tech Sourcing team sits at the intersection of Marketing, People, and Finance. We cover a wide and genuinely interesting portfolio, from Media and Marketing agency partnerships to professional services, contingent labour, and employee experience. We're a team that takes quality seriously, builds trusted relationships, and genuinely enjoys what we do.

What You'll Be Doing In This Role

As Canva scales, change continues to be part of our DNA, but we like to think that's all part of the fun. This will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, and this will likely evolve.

As a Strategic Sourcing Manager in our Non-Tech team, you'll own a diverse portfolio of indirect spend categories spanning Marketing, Professional and General Services. You'll be the go-to sourcing partner for stakeholders across the business, building commercial strategy, leading negotiations, and helping Canva get maximum value from every dollar spent. This is a hands-on role that blends category management, stakeholder engagement, and commercial rigour across a genuinely varied spend portfolio.

At the Moment, This Role Is Focused On

  • Owning end-to-end sourcing activity across categories including influencer and marketing agency services, professional and consulting services, employee events, staffing and labour, and employee benefits
  • Leading RFx processes, direct negotiations, and contract execution across your category portfolio
  • Building strong relationships with stakeholders across Marketing, People, and Finance to drive proactive pipeline management
  • Conducting category deep dives to identify spend under management, consolidation opportunities, and value levers
  • Identifying opportunities for cost optimisation, pricing improvements, and value expansion
  • Supporting the development of category strategies that balance commercial outcomes with stakeholder needs
  • Contributing to scalable sourcing processes and tools as the Non-Tech function continues to mature
  • Partnering with Legal and Finance to ensure procurement compliance across your categories, balancing speed, value, and risk


You're Probably a Match If

  • You have 5+ years of sourcing or procurement experience, ideally within a fast-paced technology or multinational environment
  • You're a confident negotiator who can hold your own in commercial conversations while maintaining strong supplier and stakeholder relationships
  • You're analytical and comfortable using data to build a case, prioritise your portfolio, and demonstrate impact
  • You bring structure to ambiguity, you can build a category plan from a blank page and execute it without constant direction
  • You communicate clearly and adapt your style to different audiences, from a finance business partner to a marketing director
  • You're energised by variety, you don't need to specialise in one category to thrive; you enjoy picking things up quickly and moving between contexts
  • You have hands-on experience within Marketing Services categories + also General Services and bring genuine enthusiasm for the space
