Job Description

Join the team redefining how the world experiences design.

Hey, g'day, mabuhay, kia ora, 你好, hallo, vítejte!

Thanks for stopping by. We know job hunting can be a little time consuming and you're probably keen to find out what's on offer, so we'll get straight to the point.

Where and how you can work

Alongside our global campuses, we also collaborate with talented contractors and freelancers from all over the world to help us achieve our crazy big goals. While we support flexible, remote-friendly ways of working, for this role we’re focusing on Manila so we can best support our teams and keep collaboration flowing.

This role is a 12 month freelance engagement. This would suit someone who has full-time availability, however you will be paid on a pay per output model.

What you’d be doing in this role

As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.

At the moment, this role is focused on:

  • Labelling, annotating, and evaluating photos, graphics, videos, stickers, designs, and other data types within a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment, in accordance with internal labelling guidelines.

  • Delivering labelled assets based on the set timeline and meeting output targets per labelling task.

  • Reviewing and refining your own labels based on feedback to maintain accuracy and consistency.

  • Being responsive and consistently checking all communications for task deliveries and updates.

  • Managing your own time effectively to ensure timely completion of tasks.

  • Being participative and attending all briefing and run-through sessions.

  • Following Canva’s data security and confidentiality policies.

  • Collaborating with in-house team members for ongoing alignment on quality standards.

You're probably a match if

  • You have experience as a multimedia designer with a strong portfolio showcasing a deep understanding of visual communication fundamentals.

  • You manage your time efficiently and deliver tasks independently.

  • You have exceptional organizational skills and a keen attention to detail.

  • You can quickly adapt and learn in a dynamic environment.

  • You have excellent written and verbal English communication skills.

  • You thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven setting.

  • You have basic knowledge of data annotation (a bonus, but not required).

We are looking for a labeller with a background in visual communication, with experience in data annotation as a plus (but not required). The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, high-energy environment and can handle a variety of tasks ranging from repetitive manual labelling to complex quality evaluation. The candidate should be good at managing their own time and capacity, as we can have a varying number of projects happening at the same time. They should be adaptable and have strong attention to detail in order to work with the different Canva labelling guidelines and standards.
