Canam Steel Corporation is a major US manufacturer of open web steel joists and steel deck.  The company participates in thousands of projects each year ranging from large distribution centers and high rise projects, to small retail centers.  The steel joist business in the US dates back to 1986 as a partnership with Canam Group and our steel deck business was launched by an acquisition of the United Steel Deck brand in 2010.  The Corporation currently operates six fabrication facilities, several sales and engineering offices, and employs approximately 800 people across the United States.

We are seeking a self-motivated individual with strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude to join our sales team in promoting and providing customized solutions and services to our customers. The successful candidate will promote the advantages of using an array of structural components. Responsibilities include conducting sales and marketing activities consistent with our corporate mission.

This position will cover the Mid-Atlantic region.

**Travel is required for internal and external meetings, as well as trade events.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: *

• Sales experience in the construction manufacturing or technical sales sector;
• An energetic and enthusiastic approach to customer service balanced with strong negotiation and decision-making abilities;
• Effective planning and time management skills;
• The ability to read construction drawings, specifications, proposals, and have experience with related software;
• The ability for frequent travel within the assigned sales region.

Priority will be given to those applicants who have previously applied these skills in the structural steel industry.

Recent graduates/alumni from a Sales/Marketing or Civil Engineering program are encouraged to apply as we are willing to consider training a candidate possessing the right mix of enthusiasm and skills.
