Job Description

The Manager, 3PL Operations is responsible for ensuring our 3PL partner(s) is performing day-to-day distribution activities that meet Canada Goose requirements on service levels, projects, financials, and compliance. This includes regular monitoring of execution by the 3PL partner(s) according to plan and KPI’s for all channels and activities (ex. Inbound, outbound, returns, cycle count, VAS, change requests, etc.) and effective communication with key stakeholders of those results. This role will optimize our fulfillment & logistics operations. This role is hybrid and based out of a 3PL location in Venlo, with occasional travel to other parts of Europe and internationally as required.

What You’ll Do:

  • Daily management of 3PL partner(s) performance against established KPI’s and priorities (ex. inbound, outbound, returns, cycle counts, etc.)
  • Ensure all Inbounds & Returns and Outbound Shipments are processed as outlined in KPIs and prioritization provided.
  • Supervise the interface between the warehouse and the (so-called) Control Tower responsible for intra-Europe shipping operations (Inbound ex offshore manufacturers / Outbound to Stores, WHSL-customers) and the Ecom parcel operator.
  • Track 3PL partner(s) noncompliance, identify root cause, drive resolution, and drive proactive mitigation
  • Perform operational audits at 3PL partner(s) facility(s) (ex. packing SOP’s, VAS applied correctly, selected carriers and service levels, etc.), document and publish results, and drive process improvement for all failures
  • Review and monitor labour resource scheduling against plan/ priorities, based on the forecast to meet warehouse operations deadlines
  • On-site management, including start-up locations and/or transitions
  • Perform financial audits against reported 3PL partner(s) costs, document and publish results, and drive resolution on any deviations
  • Reconcile 3PL partner(s) invoices for accuracy and provide signoff for processing/payment
  • Promptly notify key stakeholders of any 3PL failures (ex. performance, financial, etc.)
  • Perform weekly analysis of Budget vs. actuals for the 3PL costs and invoices
  • Identify and assist in implementing and maintaining best practice operating procedures and promoting a continuous improvement culture within the distribution centre
  • Collaborate with various business partners to prioritize change request activities and ensure flawless execution by the 3PL partner(s)
  • Maintain 3PL operational dashboards, identify areas of risk and work to resolve them promptly
  • Manage supply inventory, and maintain working relationships with suppliers to ensure cost control and competitiveness
  • Partner with key stakeholders on building and throughput capacity and align to ensure optimal effectiveness
  • Support completion of cycle count processes following required scheduling
  • Lead daily 3PL partner(s) operations calls and monthly business reviews to review performance, align on plans, resolve action items, etc.

  • Bring cohesion to Logistics and the 3PL Warehouse Team
  • Flawless service to internal customers (D2C, Sales Operations, Finance, etc.)
  • Improved 3PL productivity and Quality through continuous improvement processes
  • Partner with Logistics & Inventory team to reduce and eliminate Quality and compliance issues across all channels
  • Standardize processes in the warehouse based on global benchmarks.
  • Questioning the status quo and providing recommendations supported by data.
  • Establish a good relationship with the 3PL Leadership team and hold them accountable for metrics/results.

Let's Talk About You:

  • Post-Secondary Degree/Diploma in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, Mathematics, or a related analytical field
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in high volume, fast moving distribution or manufacturing environment
  • 3+ years of vendor management experience
  • Logistics / Supply Chain Certification is an asset
  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement principles
  • Flexible working and travel schedule
  • Proven track record to influence senior-level stakeholders
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and team-building skills
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal direction in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong knowledge of ERP and WMS systems
  • Bilingual with fluency in both English and German/Dutch
