Job Description

Summary of Position:

The Quality Assurance Coordinator, External is responsible for supporting the external contractors with their quality concerns and auditing a sample of finished goods. The Coordinator will visit the contractors daily to collect data, create and share reports to ensure continuous improvement. The QA Coordinator follows performance standards, procedures, and audit controls to meet the QA department and CG business requirements and must be capable of multi-tasking autonomously while working in a team environment to perform tasks cross-functionally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Audit finished goods coming out of production onsite at the contractors to ensure production is up to CG standards
  • Support contractors with any quality-related question or concern
  • Inspect reference samples, pre-production samples, sales samples and provide feedback to various stakeholders
  • Periodically audit the contractors on CG corporate policies and SOPs (down, metal, etc.)
  • May be asked to inspect finished goods at the distribution center, release or reject shipments
  • Collect and analyze inspection data, prepare reports for Management and contractors
  • Ensure contractors are following up on CAPAs and implementing quality failures preventative measures
  • May act as back up to Internal CGS QA Coordinator during absence and/or times of high volume of work for the Scarborough facility
  • Provide regular feedback to QA Sr. Supervisor regarding garment quality performance
  • Respond to quality assurance issues with related departments to find solution and to continuously improve the performance of quality policies and procedures
  • Continuous cross-departmental support to manufacturing, product development/ product engineering, sales, customer service and marketing
  • Must be proactive and take accountability for assigned ad hoc projects


 Experience, Education and Designations:

  • 2 years of experience in Garment Industries
  • Degree in Fashion/Textiles Manufacturing preferred


Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:

  • Strong MS Office skills
  • Excellent written and verbal English skills
  • Strong knowledge of garment construction and patternmaking
  • Understanding manufacturing process with the garment industry
  • Understanding of Tech Pack (manual)
  • Highly detail-oriented, organized and able to multi-task
  • Ability to prioritize, operate proactively, work as a team and handle challenges
  • Fast learner and work autonomously on the road
  • Excellent common sense and decision-making abilities
  • Confident, articulate, goal oriented, self-motived and hard working


Working Conditions:

  • On the road visiting contractors 90% of the time
  • Must have a car and valid driver’s licence
  • Manufacturing environment
