Summary

We’re looking for a UX/UI designer who will take a key role on our team. We are looking for a well-rounded expert in designing intuitive user experiences and beautiful user interfaces across all platforms.

This position is a fully remote, work-from-home opportunity. This is a full-time, hourly position eligible for benefits after an initial evaluation period. Available benefits include 401(k) with company matching up to a percentage of pay as well as a health reimbursement account. Hourly rate is negotiable based on the overall compensation package, factoring your experience and qualifications.

Our ideal team member is an expert in user experience, design patterns, and interactive design, with comfort designing anything from complex apps to beautiful landing pages designed to convert on a marketing goal.

Strong familiarity with up-to-date best practices for responsive design on the web, iOS (including Apple's human interface guidelines), and Android (including Google's Material Design language) is a must.

Expertise in the Sketch app and InVision are required for screen mockup design and prototyping. Additional design capabilities such as custom illustration, photography, animation, and 3d modeling are preferred. Some front-end development capabilities are a bonus, but not required.

You’ll be the primary designer and subject matter expert on each of your projects' agile teams. You'll work alongside an Agile Project Manager, a small team of web & mobile developers, and our client's stakeholders to consistently deliver high-quality user experience and user interface designs for your projects.

You'll work on everything from fun and exciting bootstrapped startup apps to large scale implementations and enterprise system integration for multi-billion dollar corporations.


Duties

The UX/UI Designer's responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • collecting and distilling functional requirements to understand not only user roles and personas but business goals behind all functionality
  • critically evaluating the features and functionality of a product to produce an excellent and intuitive user experience that meets both user and business objectives
  • pairing with internal and external product owners and business owners to provide product vision and leadership from ideation through implementation
  • producing low-fidelity wireframes, pixel-perfect screen mockups, and interactive prototypes across multiple platforms and screen sizes
  • setting and continuously meeting or exceeding expectations for delivery of quality work in each sprint

Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience with user experience and user interface design
  • strong portfolio of relevant work
  • strong communication and presentation skills
  • demonstrated ability to self-manage in a remote work environment
  • experience in the agile project management methodology and iterative approach
  • experience with the Atlassian suite including JIRA and Confluence
  • expert understanding of Sketch, InVision, and other related UX/UI design tools
