Job Description
Join our specialized field team installing and maintaining vibrating wire piezometers and related geotechnical instrumentation in underground and open-pit mining environments. This is a hands-on technical role that combines field execution with data analysis and reporting in challenging, high-value projects.
- Conduct site characterization, drillhole stability assessments, and precise downhole instrumentation installations
- Perform geologic and geotechnical mapping and geomechanical core logging
- Collect, process, and reduce data from installed downhole instruments
- Prepare technical field reports and documentation to support engineering decisions
- Work rotating or alternating shifts when project schedules require
- Must be willing to travel up to 75% of the time
Qualifications
Required:
- 5–10 years of practical hands-on experience in engineering, mechanical, military, heavy maintenance, fabrication, or civil construction fields (we will train motivated candidates with strong aptitudes)
- Associate degree (any technical discipline)
- Comfortable in working with a wide variety of hand and battery powered tools
- Natural problem-solving ability combined with an engineering-oriented mindset and proven team leadership skills
- Full mobility for domestic and international travel
- Must have a clean driving record and be able to pass a Department of Transport medical examination
- All candidates must legally be authorized to work in the USA
Preferred:
- Bachelor-level coursework or degree in STEM disciplines
- Experience operating work trucks and light trailers
- Extensive background with precision hand and power tools
- Previous outdoor field work in construction, mining, or related industries
- Demonstrated success on rotating or shift schedules
Additional Information
Starting Pay
$25–$30 per hour, commensurate with relevant experience and education
